Today, on the 79th Independence Day, we at DRTC (Development Resource and Training Center), Bhubaneswar - one of our three training centers had the honor of hosting our esteemed Director for the flag hoisting. This was the first time he was present with us on this auspicious day.
Sagar, our security personnel on duty, led the Director in a small march-past to the flagpost, beautifully arranged by Santosji, our Garden In-Charge. Minakshi, the Manager, coordinated the program with the support of our cafeteria, housekeeping, and garden staff, along with a few hostel inmates present today.
The program began a little late as everyone waited for Ms Sampa Singh, a representative of CYSD, who came all the way from Dhauli.
The tricolor was then ceremoniously hoisted by the Director so that the flowers could gracefully fall as the flag unfurled at the top of the pole. The National Anthem was sung in chorus, completed perfectly in 48 seconds.
In his Independence Day speech, the Director spoke passionately about India’s rich culture and age-old history, reminding us that our civilization especially Prachi civilization may be even older than Egypt, Mohenjo-daro, or Harappa. He emphasized that when India says “One World, One Family”, it reflects a heritage far richer in culture, knowledge, and spirituality than in minerals or human resources. While material resources may deplete, these intangible treasures have only grown and inspired the nation and its people.
He urged everyone to focus on earning respect and dignity, for this not only uplifts an individual but also elevates the image of the state and nation before the world. “Whatever your profession or situation,” he said, “you can live a life of respect—and that will make you truly independent and complete.”
