TIME : 7-9 pm every Thursday (even on a Bharat bandh day :) )

AGENDA: Open for any LGBTIQA related discussion, personal or public. This is a self-moderating group. FUNDING: This is a self-funded group that runs on voluntary donations collected at the spot. OTHER EVENTS:
- There are LGBT film screenings on selected Saturdays 6PM at the same place.
- Every Sunday morning 10-2pm, a few of us meet for Brunch at Airlines hotel, near vittal malya road. ANNUAL/ PERIODIC EVENTS:
- GoodAsYou, along with other queer interest groups, organizes the Bangalore Queer Film Festival every February, over the last weekend. This is a PUBLIC event and has been at the Alliance Francais over the last 3 years.
- GoodAsYou, along with other queer interest groups, organizes the Bangalore Pride March and the week-long Pride Mela before the March. This typically is in November.
- Other events are organized from time to time, including LITERARY EVENTS, PARENTS/ FAMILY Meetings etc.
- Health camps, including HIV/ STD Testing, special interest conversations on topics such as financial planning, estate planning etc are also organized through GoodAsYou

This is an open space and looks forward to participants creating more avenues for queer people to socialize and build a sense of community. Open ideas that seek volunteer coordinators include sports/ games groups, trekking, travel, cooking etc.

STATEMENT IN SOLIDARITY

For 32 years, Good As You Bangalore has nurtured and sustained spaces for q***r people across a wide range of identities. Over the decades, our community has included countless gender-diverse individuals who have found support, solidarity, and belonging within these spaces.

We strongly oppose the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Bill, 2026. This legislation undermines the fundamental principle of self-determination and threatens the dignity, autonomy, and legal recognition of transgender and gender-diverse people across India. We stand in solidarity with all individuals, collectives, and organisations working to challenge and resist this regressive move.

Good As You Bangalore will continue to remain a space for gender-diverse individuals; without any form of gatekeeping of identity. In the days ahead, many in the community may experience anguish, uncertainty, and grief as they confront the implications of this bill for their lives and futures. Our space remains open to everyone who seeks community, care, and solidarity.

Yesterday, Holy Curse was screened at Swabhava. We thank for giving us the space, and we are grateful to the director and writers , producers for making this beautiful filem and letting us screening the film for free. A big thanks as well to for organising this with so much care.

The people attending the screening discussed the below reflections on the film:

The group shared how Holy Curse speaks not only to q***r lives but also to straight audiences, showing the everyday politics of gender, privilege and family. The film challenges patriarchy, highlights subtle misogyny, and questions how religion is used as an easy solution even when it causes more confusion and pain. There was strong discussion on how families especially mothers often know their child’s identity but stay in denial, allowing trauma to continue. The film’s sensitive portrayal of gender identity early realisation, long-term suppression, and the emotional weight of gender dysphoria left a deep impact. Attendees also discussed how it is always told that q***rness is a Western idea but the fact is it is rooted in Indian history, and how centring a q***r individual's journey brings much-needed visibility. The discussion ended with a simple but powerful observation from the film: even something as basic as peeing is a privilege for men, while women continue to face restrictions for the same natural act.
