Third batch of HTHP in as many days and while making this was an ordeal (working with hot oil and lye is no joke!), I think this one is my favorite! So pleased with how the swirls came out (where the heck is my hanger tool?!?!).

After two batches of fruit scented soaps, this batch is a bit more on the masculine side, but not overpowering at all. Fragrance is French Bourbon Reserve from and I absolutely love it. I added poppy seeds at 's request and added jojoba oil at the end of the cook along with some yogurt to help with fluidity.

This is the formula I used:
10% Avocado oil
15 % Castor oil
20% Coconut oil
15% Olive Oil
35% Palm Oil
5 % Stearic acid

Can't believe my last post was almost exactly a year ago!

Between moving house six months ago and getting pregnant with twins, I was sure that my soaping supplies would stay in storage for a much longer time. Turns out that soap is running low here so I decided that now is the time to stock up. I've been cross stitching to fill the crafting void but it's not quite the same!

I went with hot process because I find the process to be so cool and despite not having a clue where my hanger tool is, I'm kind of happy with how it came out.

Fragrance is Macintosh Apple and my whole house smells like fall!

Absolutely loving how my first batch of hot process soap came out!
Ever since I had to rebatch a small loaf of soap a few weeks ago, I've had hot process soap making on the brain. Turns out, there are way fewer resources out there for HP than for CP. I did stumble on a video of high temp hot process soap and I was floored by how quick the process was. After a bit of back and forth, I bought the Ultime Guide to Hot Process soap last week and decided to give it a go last night.

I had been wanting to make my husband a second batch of soap using some new colors from Mad Micas so that's what I did. I used my regular recipe but did a high temp hot process using extra additives, including sour cream. I absolutely loved making it and will be making another batch soon. It is so different than making CP soap but so satisfying.

I cut the loaf this morning and was so happy with the smooth texture and the way the colors came out.

These are colored with new Vineyard as well as Bermuda Triangle. Scented in Iced Vanilla Woods.

Got this set finished just in the nick of time (although I had it planned ages ago)! Purim is probably my least favorite Jewish holiday but I do really love the way they turned out.
Wishing a Happy Purim to all who celebrate! I hope it's a joyous (and stressfree!) day for you.

Finally got these painted, just in time for Tu B'shvat, the celebration of the New Year for the trees. I'd been planning a set like this for a long time and I'm glad I was able to see it through. It's nice and rainy outside so I hope we see lots of growth in the spring time!

All of the molds are from and they all worked so well for me. Fragrance is Lily Lemon Drop and I believe most of these colorants are from

Winter returned with a vengeance just in time for me to post these bath bombs! We had some uncharacteristically warm and sunny weather the last few weeks but the last few days have been rain, rain, rain (and rainbows 🌈🌈!!).

I was planning on just going with an icy, wintery theme with the light blue but I actually pulled out Blue Tide, which looks more blue in the container but paints on more green. Oh well!

These molds come from three different makers (I love when that happens!).

The toque (and mini mittens) is from and is a hybrid. The large mitten is from and the Ugly Sweater mold (definitely did the name justice as it is not my best paint job) is from .

We're at the stage where it's potty words non-stop.
But hey, if you can't beat em, join em!

Scented in a blend of Awaken and Mango Papaya because I've taken to randomly blending fragrances lately.
The brown is also Mocha.

I made a few other plain white bombs that I plan to paint because it's a fun but meditative activity that helps me wind down.

Let's talk jelly soap!

My favorite duo over at recently released their guide on jelly soaps. I was intrigued but apprehensive to purchase as I saw some makers struggling to get them right. When I saw that I could get the most important ingredient locally, I decided to take advantage of a flash sale and grab it.

To prep, I watched a Make With Me Monday where Robyn makes the jellies and read all of the related posts. I decided to give it a whirl. My first go? A flop, as you can see by the last photo, a concealed blue mess. I tried again and this time was able to get something smoother (same photo). Unfortunately, the formula that was supposed to be kid proof broke and dissolved kind of quickly. So I gave it another few tries. Lots more flops.

So, I turned to the internet and read whatever I could find about jelly soaps and their star ingredient, carrageenan.
I'm thrilled to say that after about ten more small batches (including different surfactants and percentages), I finally nailed it! A firm and sufficiently bubbly jelly soap that actually turns out each time!

Despite the frustration, I must say I'm pretty proud I didn't throw in the towel! It feels pretty darn good!

A Tale of Five Balloons, another Israeli children's classic.

I've been wanting to do this ever since I posted my Lions and Strawberries post; it only took a whole bunch of months to do it!

The recipe is as is the balloon mold.
I mixed poly 80 with alcohol into the micas for paint and I'm loving the result. Micas are .

Bloobies are my son's absolute favorite so this mold was an instant during the last sale.

I hope he loves them, even though they smell like apples.

Formula is that she includes in every order. Fragrance is one of my all time faves, Apple by . I have no idea which green that is but the blue is Navy Blue.

Waiting for Rain

The rainy season here is from October to April so we relay on good rains to get us through the rest of the year.
I finished painting these yesterday and what do you know, it rained. My kids and I opened their bedroom window to see the drops and smell the rain. Something so cozy about being inside during rainfall. For my son, the best part is seeing the snails on the way to daycare the next morning.

The umbrella and raindrops are from (waited so long to use the umbrella!) and the rain boots are

As the weather gets cooler, I find myself excited about winter formulations. In the summertime, I tend to really slack off of keeping my skin soft and moisturized but applying creams and lotions becomes a daily/nightly ritual that I really look forward to. I'm also pretty happy about the fact that I won't have to battle summer humidity when making bath bombs!

1. Full sized bath bombs for my son who loves blue! After making so many midis, it's nice to make fuller sized bombs. They turned out a bit spotty, likely I didn't add enough colorant, but I was able to up the citric acid again with no activation issues. All molds (in photos 1+2) are

2. I've been testing out all of the bath bomb formulas in the BFF guides and these are the bombs I made with the fan favorite recipe. I made these orange for my bestie's son who loves the color orange.

3+4. My toddler has been experiencing bouts of excema behind her knees and in the creases of her arms so I've been trying all sorts of things to try to keep her skin moisturized including using bath oil in her bath. I did make this cream for her (fragrance free) using colloidal oatmeal, shea butter and calendula infused olive oil. I'm not making any medicinal claims but it seems that conscientiously applying cream a couple times a day has really helped clear it up!

I made myself a foot cream as well but didn't photograph that.

What did you make this week?
