Every visit Fatmir and his sons, Ben and Orgito, make to Tralee Town Park feels like a return to the place closest to Anila’s heart - a place where her presence still lingers.

Anila, a devoted wife and mother, was tragically killed in an accident in Blennerville while out jogging on a Sunday morning in March 2025.

Running was a social outlet for the 48-year-old Albanian native who, along with Fatmir, moved to Kerry in 2002. Meeting every Saturday in Tralee Town Park was the highlight of her week.

Her family now want to place a plaque on a park bench in her memory - the bench where she prepared for her runs and later rested while chatting with friends.
