The Christmas in Doon weekend took place from the 28th to the 30th of November. The weekend featured a disco on Friday, a craft workshop on Saturday, as well as Santa’s visit and the craft fair itself, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the village.
On behalf of the committee, we wish to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event—whether by preparing the hall, putting up decorations, assembling the grotto, assisting with the disco or workshops, or helping out on the day of the fair. Your efforts were instrumental in making the weekend a success. We would also like to acknowledge Lisa Shanahan for managing our social media posts during November and Mike Holmes for his artistic work in the grotto. Please see list of volunteers or anyone who contributed in anyway in photos section
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors, whose generosity ensures this annual event continues. Our sponsors include: Doon Chemist, Moores of Doon, Richardson's Butcherss, McNamara's Hardware, The Doll House Hair Salon, Lenihan's Centra Doon, Doon Social Farm, The ICA, Berkery’s Garage, SuperValu Ireland - Cashel, Castletroy & Limerick, Dunnes Stores Limerick, , Shane Kelly's Pharmacy, Hackett Chemist, Freeway Poultry, JS Fitness, O’Malley Butchers Tipperary, Rearcross Tyres, and individuals such as Peggy Sweeney, Una McNamara, and Trish Fahey.
We are grateful to all stallholders for joining us at the fair—we hope you enjoyed the event and found it rewarding. (A full list of stallholders is available in the comments section).
Our appreciation extends to the Doon Community Council (Doon Community Centre) for granting us use of their facilities from Thursday evening through Sunday; without their support, organising the event would be significantly more challenging.
Special thanks go to the members of the Christmas in Doon weekend committee, listed in no particular order: Alan AudreyCrowe, Bernie McNamara, Brendan Ryan, Ciara Crump, Cristine O'Brien, Denise Lenihan, Eileen Gleeson, EIleen Murphy, Joanna Barry, Kevin McNamara, Paul Ryan Rue, Siobhan O’Donnell, Tom Maher, Tomas Hanrahan, and Trish Fahey. Their dedication, hard work, and commitment are invaluable in bringing this event to life each year.
Finally, we thank the people of Doon and the surrounding parishes for their continued support, and we look forward to welcoming you all again at the end of November 2026.
