Christmas In Doon

As the dust settles on the Country Family Fun day on the 12th July at the community centre Doon, on behalf of Siobhan O'Donnell, Joanna Barry and myself we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported the event and especailly everyone who helped on the day, over the few days before and after the event, and in no particular order: Anne Marie O'Brien, Ann O'Brien, Maggie O' Brien, Noreen O'Brien, Breda Hartnett, Alan O'Brien, Mikey Reale, Audrey Fox, Cian & Grace Murphy, Tom, Hugh & George Maher, Eilin Chuimin, Norah & Matty Collins, Michael Mc Kenna , kevin lenihan, Paddy & Cian Coleman, Eileen Murphy, James Barry, Alex english, James Nolan, Bianca Barry , Seamus White, Seamus Barry, Tom Hanrahan and Stephen Byrnes.

Doon Light up Doon for Christmas 2026. We’re excited to announce 80’s fancy dress table quiz at GD’s Bar on 22nd May, kicking off at 9pm. All the money raised goes towards the Christmas lights and the upcoming fair at the end of November. It promises to be a fun night with plenty of music, laughter and good vibes. There’ll be prizes for the best dressed table, plus awards for first and second place in the quiz. Entry is €40 per table, and everyone’s welcome.

Lights up Doon for Christmas are holding a series of events throughout 2026 to add to the Christmas light we had on show at hill in assumption tce in 2025. We aim to make the lights more vibrant and festive in 2026 throughout the village. These events will hopefully achieve that aim.

So add the dates from the poster, to your diary, to provide the much needed support for Light up Christmas in Doon 2026.
