Shorelines Arts Festival

Shorelines Arts Festival Held each September, Shorelines offers a feast of Music, Literature, Film, Theatre, Visual Art, Fami

We started out in 2007 and now in our 13th year, the festival has developed into a premier boutique festival in the Midlands. The festival is a true community project organised by an eight-member local voluntary committee who take pride in seeing the population of Portumna significantly increase in numbers for the duration of the festival. What a night we had thanks to Roscommon Mens Choir, with a guest appearance from our very own Omna Singers too. They certainly raised the roof on the Town Hall! With their upbeat tunes and energetic vibes they delivered a fun, inclusive and uplifting evening for all. A great reminder of the power of music to bring us together!

Saturday is a jam-packed day with too many events to list them all here!

We've got workshops, we've got Brazilian drumming, we've got face-painting and puppetry for the small kids and short films and a documentary for the older kids! We've got literary events, music events, free events including a house tour, and to top it all off we've got Camille O'Sullivan!

We also have a variety of visual arts exhibitions to chose from at both the Irish Workhouse Centre and Portumna Castle Gallery. Don't miss them!

We promise you, you will not bored. Head to www.shorelinesartsfestival.com and book your tickets now, if you haven't done so already.

Renowned for their unique style of East Galway music, Máirín & Yvonne Fahy (The Fahy Family, Ballinakill) together with Patsy Broderick (Kilreekil) celebrate and commemorate the sweet melodic charms of the compositions of Fr. P.J. Kelly at this special lunchtime concert!

Fr. P.J. Kelly was a Columban missionary from East Galway whose tune compositions have become beloved classics across the traditional music world. Bringing together three master musicians with deep roots in the regional style, this performance explores the rich heritage, history, and vibrant spirit of his musical legacy.
