€3,400 raised for the Tipperary Branch Irish Kidney Association at Timmy’s memorial game - what a fab little community we have ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out tonight for Timmy’s Memorial Game. The support was truly incredible, with an amazing turnout of 81 entries on the clock - and the game is still running as we write this 🔥

We would like to once again sincerely thank everyone who donated so generously, whether through cash contributions, prize donations, or by purchasing raffle tickets. Thanks to your kindness, we raised an amazing €3,400 for the Tipperary Branch of the Irish Kidney Association, which was proudly presented to Frannie Hogan tonight on behalf of Timmy and the Moloney Family ❤️

Fundraising breakdown:

In addition, we held a special auction for a limited-edition framed photograph of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Champions — one of just 20 in existence and signed by Liam Cahill. This fantastic prize was very kindly donated by Quirkes Trophies. After a spirited bidding battle, Chris Pyke secured the piece for €500, bringing the total raised on the night to €3,400. 🤩

An incredible achievement for a small poker event, and a true testament to the generosity of everyone involved. Thank you to all who contributed in any way - your support truly makes a difference to those who need it ❤️ I’m sure Timmy would be very proud of the funds raised for such a great cause 💯

In memory of Timmy Moloney ❤️, we are honoured to once again host the Timmy Moloney Memorial Game at the Clonmel Coursing Festival which takes place on Monday, 2nd February at 3pm.

This year, at the kind request of the Moloney Family, all raffle proceeds will be donated to the Tipperary Branch of the Irish Kidney Association, in support of our great friend and festival regular Francis “Frannie” Hogan, who is currently undergoing kidney dialysis and awaiting a kidney transplant and who is secretary of the Tipperary Branch and has fundraised tirelessly for them himself.

To get the fundraising ball rolling, we at Celtic Poker are donating €250 to the pot, along with Paul O’Reilly & JP Mc Cann who are donating €250 on behalf of the Irish Open & Brian Lannon who is donating €150 on behalf of Dublin Poker Club, putting €650 in the pot before we start the raffle. Thanks to these for getting us off to a great start ✅

🎫 Raffle tickets are now available via Revolut and throughout the weekend (30th Jan – 2nd Feb) at the Talbot Hotel Clonmel.

Tickets are €5 each or 3 for €10 💶

This year at the Clonmel Coursing Festival, we are honoured to once again host the Timmy Moloney Memorial Game on Monday, 2nd February at 3pm ❤️

The Moloney family have very kindly requested that all funds raised this year from the raffle on the day be donated to the Tipperary Branch of the Irish Kidney Association. This gesture is made in recognition of the current journey of one of the our well-known recreational players and Coursing Festival regular, Francis “Frannie” Hogan, who is presently undergoing kidney dialysis and hopes to receive a kidney transplant in the future.

Timmy and Frannie shared a great friendship around the poker tables in Clonmel and beyond, filled with laughter, stories and many late nights. Sadly, both men were dealt difficult hands when it came to their health, and in Timmy’s memory, the Moloney family wish to show their support for Frannie and others on a similar journey. 💯

Frannie, who has tirelessly raised funds himself for the Irish Kidney Association, said:

“It would be a great honour to accept the funds raised from Timmy’s memorial game on behalf of the Tipperary Branch of the Irish Kidney Association. I’m currently Secretary of the Tipperary Branch and as someone navigating the kidney transplant list at the moment, I truly understand how vital every donation is to people on this journey. I sincerely thank the Moloney family for thinking of us - it is really appreciated, and I’m really looking forward to attending Timmy’s memorial game again this year, he’s always in my thoughts.”

✅ This is a fantastic opportunity to raise much needed funds for this amazing cause and tickets will be available to purchase later on this week via Revolut and throughout the weekend at the Coursing Festival from 30th Jan - 2nd Feb in the Talbot Hotel Clonmel ♠️ The raffle will be held on Monday evening just after the dinner break at Timmy’s memorial game.
