MENU HONESTY 2026 đźđȘ
A menu is not decoration, it is a legal promise.
When you print it, you enter a binding contract with every guest who orders from it â what you say is what they are legally entitled to receive.
If you claim âIrish beefâ, âhome-madeâ, âorganicâ, âlocalâ or âline-caughtâ, you are making a contractual statement.
Mislabel it and you are not just lying â you are misleading consumers, breaching trading standards and exposing your business to legal action for false description and misrepresentation.
So letâs be crystal clear:
Your menu is your contract.
Honour it, or change it.
Zero tolerance to food fraud. Zero tolerance to bu****it.
If your menu says:
âlocalâ⊠it better be local.
âseasonalâ⊠it better be in season.
âIrish beef / lamb / veg / dairyâ⊠it better be supporting real Irish farmers, not a marketing department.
If you call out a supplier you better have invoices to prove it!
Guests are not stupid. Farmers are not disposable. Staff are not punchbags.
If you are abusing people or dressing up cheap food as something itâs not, you have NO place in Irish hospitality.
This is your line in the sand:
â
Audit every dish
â
Name real suppliers
â
Remove the lies
â
Amend & reprint your menu â TODAY
Stand with the people who grow, rear, serve and cook the food.
Choose courage over spin. Choose integrity over âvibesâ.
So clean up your menu and your practices, and share this with every chef, owner and manager who needs to see it.
