Congratulations to our 28 athletes who represented Balyna Community Games at the Kildare County Athletics competition. We were so proud to see you all out there competing with determination and heart in the gorgeous sunshine!

Special mentions to:
🥈 Amelia – 2nd place in the 60m
🏅 Seánóg – 4th in the 200m
🥉 U14 Girls 4x100m Relay – 3rd place

It wasn't his day this time, but the experience gained is invaluable and we have no doubt he'll be back stronger next year!

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ **Kildare Community Games County Finals – Athletics** 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

📅 **Tuesday 26th May**
📍 **Celbridge AC**
⏰ **Starting at 6pm SHARP**
💶 **Entry Fee: €5 per Family**

Please make sure to arrive in **plenty of time to register** before the 6pm start — events begin promptly!

Tuesday's programme includes:
✅ Track events – sprints, hurdles, middle distance
✅ Relays – 4 x 100m (and U-16 Mixed 4 x 200m)
✅ Long Jump (6pm sharp) & High Jump (7pm)

⚠️ **Important reminders:**
👉 Each athlete may enter **1 track event, 1 field event & 1 relay only**
👉 **No spikes** for U-8 or U-10 athletes
👉 **No entries on the day** – all entries must go through your Community Games area

📌 *Please note: Throw events (shot putt, discus, javelin) and ball throw/long puck will be held on a separate evening – details to follow.*

Huge congratulations to our u10s from Balyna Juvenile GAA Club winning the county final today in a great match against Clane-Rathcoffey this evening. Best of luck in the first round of the Leinster championships, no doubt you'll do us proud.

It's our first Balyna community games win in football since 1977 (do you recognise anyone from that team?)

Great to see Broadford Camogie and Johnstownbridge Camogie Club playing together on Balyna community games team. Unfortunately, they met a very experienced Clane side in the semi-final this evening, so we'll have to wait another year to see them back in action in community games again. Big thank you to both clubs for coordinating the teams, the managers and most importantly the players who did Balyna and Carbury parishes proud.
