Just before our festival preparations ramp up over the summer, we take a moment to look back on all we did last year, and all those who helped make it possible.

2025 was a particularly busy year for Baboró as we delivered several creative projects in schools and communities throughout Galway, in addition to our annual international festival. These projects allowed us to reach more children and deepen our engagement with them, their parents and community.

Thank you to our brilliant Children’s Panel, artists, volunteers and Board of Trustees. And to the teachers, parents, guardians and of course children who bring our work to life!

We are delighted to welcome Kate Costello to the Baboró Board! 🙌

Kate Costello is a Marketing Director who runs her own business, Narrator & Co. Based on the west coast, Narrator & Co is a creative consultancy telling stories for independent brands. Kate has always had a passion for the arts and originally trained as a theatre director and she now brings this unique sensibility to creative brands. She has worked on innovative digital campaigns for some of the world’s leading luxury brands, including Burberry, Augustinus Bader, Ermenegildo Zegna and Hunter Boots.

Over the past few years, she has worked with some of Ireland’s foremost independent lifestyle brands and creative organisations to tell the story of their unique creative heritage and identity.

We are absolutely thrilled to have Kate’s expertise, insight and creativity as part of our board as we look ahead to 2026 and prepare to celebrate 30 years of Baboró.

We’re delighted to share some wonderful international arts news as two companies with long standing connections to Baboró are taking their work to world stages in Australia and the US in 2026 🌟

Baboró would like to extend our very best wishes to Branar as they begin their tour of their show Rothar, which opens at Sydney Opera House as part of the Sydney Festival today!

And to, Antarctica! by Rosán Sensory Adventures, who will travel to the Lincoln Center in New York as part of the Big Umbrella Festival, before heading to the Sydney Opera House in July.

‘Artists will be supported to make exciting, innovative work for children and young people’, is one of Baboró’s strategic goals. Seeing work invested in and premiered at Baboró reach audiences on some of the world’s most prestigious stages is incredibly exciting.

A huge congratulations to all the artists, creatives and collaborators involved! We can’t wait to follow these journeys and cheer you on from home in Galway 👏❤️
