The National Talent Academy for Animation and Animation Ireland were delighted to be apart of the animation workshop for the final day of the Young Irish Filmmakers summer camp! 🎨

The kids got hands on experience on what it takes to create an animated short. It was great to see them take on the challenge and we hope to see them starting their careers in animation in the years to come.

Looking back, it is hard to believe it has been nearly two months since the Animation Ireland Meitheal and what an incredibly inspiring day it was! 🎬

Reflecting on the event, one thing is absolutely undeniable: the talent, passion, and creativity driving the Irish animation sector are stronger and more vibrant than ever.

An amazing day of Animation at the ! The 12pm screening delighted us with a selection of short films from the National Talent Academies, and The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon. The filmmakers then had the opportunity to network and meet the teams around a few plates of goodies Anna McSwiggen. But the best way to finish the day was certainly with 2 awards for the amazing shorts by and ! Animation Ireland Chair Moe Honan presented the James Horgan Award for Best Animated Short, to Alan Holly for Voideden at the 38th Galway Film Fleadh and Happy Hauntings won Best First Short which was one of the NTAA films. Well done all!

🤝 Animation Ireland welcomed the New Zealand Studios to our stand yesterday for some speed networking. It was a great chance for our two countries to connect and discover all the opportunities available to collaborate and make the most of our co-production treaty! 🇳🇿

🇪🇺 The CEO of Screen Ireland, Désirée Finnegan made the closing remarks at the inaugural Annecy European Animation Summit. This event is dedicated to the strategic and policy issues facing animation in Europe. It brings together public decision-makers, European institutions and industry professionals to foster dialogue, share sector insights and help build a strong European vision for animation.

🎉 Yesterday marked the kick off of Annecy MIFA 2026! Animation Ireland hosted our annual MIFA breakfast to mark the start of a productive and busy week filled with events, screenings and meetings. 🤝
