I run a badminton session most Sunday nights in Whitehall Rd for 2 hours (usually 7-9pm) for Premier & divisions 1-2 men & ladies only (BI Grades P, A, B, C or CAC Grades P, S, 1). It's not a club, it's simply a group of badminton enthusiasts and friends getting together for some great badminton! The way it works is as follows:-
Every Monday/Tuesday, I text everyone on my list to see who wants to
play that following Sunday. People reply with a yes or no! Once I have the required numbers (with a few spare people, usually an extra 2 max), I put all the games together in advance. This saves time on the night and there's no need to worry about pegs etc. It also means that most people get a good selection of different people to play with and against and I try to do a variety of ladies/mens & mixed. If there's a requirement from a pairing that want to get a few games in for practice together, I accommodate that too. I fit in 8 games per night (15 min slots) and it usually works out that most people will get full on play for the 2 hours, there may be times that someone has to sit out just one game, but NEVER more than one game. The cost is €12 which is the price of the courts + shuttles, divided by the number of people playing, so there's no profit made on this! For that you get a guaranteed 7 games but most likely the full 8 games. Please note: any new people coming along will be on a trial basis for a couple of weeks, to ensure you're at the right level to play. Thanks a million! One requirement I do have is that if you say you'll play then you can't make it for whatever reason, you need to let me know as soon as you can, because I'll need to adjust the games before the session.
