5.30PM An Díseart

Cuireann Sonas Duo clár bríomhar ós ár gcomhair ó réimse an Opera. Beidh arias ó réimse Opera le clos le claonadh comhaimseartha agus píosaí cumtha ar an stíl opera.

Sonas Duo presents an exciting programme inspired by the amazing world of the Opera. The

programme will feature both opera arias revisited in a modern key and pieces inspired by the

operatic style, mixing lyrical works and virtuosity. The combination of cello and piano will give new

voice to a repertoire already much loved by the public, making it even more engaging and with the

aim of bringing the wonderful world of classical music to an always wider audience.

Music by Puccini, Verdi, Rossini, Gershwin and others.

Davide Forti, cello, and Francesca De Nardi, piano, are an Italian duo based in Dundalk. have

been awarded many prizes, such as the 1st prize at the Feis Ceoil 2021 (Elsner Memorial Cup),

the 2nd prize at LAMS Matera Competition 2020 and the 1st prize at the IMKA International Music

Competition 2019. "Sonas" is a tribute to the land that hosted them: it means "happiness" in

Gaelic, but it also recalls the Latin verb "sonare", combining their love for music in a single

concept.

Francesca and Davide will perform

music by Puccini, Verdi, Rossini, Gershwin and others. Bentornati agli Italiani. Fáilte thar nais roimh na hIodálaigh!
