Meet the artist: Judit Máté

🇭🇺 Hungarian-born organist, church musician and choral conductor Judit Máté began studying the organ at the age of fourteen and later completed a Master's Degree in Organ Performance at TU Conservatoire Dublin, where she studied with Simon Harden, Siobhán Kilkelly, Colm Carey, and David Adams.

🎼 A passionate conductor and ensemble leader, Judit founded the St Jude's Chamber Orchestra and Concert Choir in 2011 and has been Musical Director of the Trim-based Credo Vocal Ensemble since 2022.

🎶 Judit is the Artistic Director of the Dún Laoghaire Summer Organ Concerts and serves as organist at St Michael's Church, Dún Laoghaire, and the Church of the Divine Word, Marley Grange. As a recital organist, she has performed in Hungary, Ireland, and France.

Meet the Artist: New Dublin Voices

🎶 Founded in 2005 by conductor Bernie Sherlock, New Dublin Voices is one of Ireland's leading chamber choirs, celebrated for its imaginative programming and commitment to the music of living composers.

🌍 New Dublin Voices has collaborated with and commissioned works from renowned composers including Ēriks Ešenvalds, Paweł Łukaszewski, Jaakko Mäntyjärvi, Vytautas Miškinis, Roxanna Panufnik and Joan Szymko.

🏆 Internationally acclaimed, the choir most recently won the 2024 Grand Prix at the International Krakow Choir Festival, adding to previous Grand Prix victories in Belgium, Hungary, Italy and Latvia.

🎵 In 2025, New Dublin Voices released its acclaimed recording Snow Dance for the Dead on VOCES8 Records, further cementing its reputation as one of Europe's most exciting choral ensembles.

The 2026 Dún Laoghaire Organ Concert Series begins on 7 June with our opening concert featuring the award-winning New Dublin Voices, conducted by Bernie Sherlock, alongside our artistic director Judit Máté.

There’s still time to become a Patron of the series and enjoy admission to all 13 concerts throughout the season.

From internationally renowned performers to exciting emerging artists, this year’s programme offers a rich variety of music across the summer in the beautiful setting of St Michael’s Church, Dún Laoghaire - every Sunday from June - August at 8pm.

There isn't a more majestic, more wonderful pairing than Bach and the organ. Pipeworks and Whitefriar Street Church will present this fantastic concert series where Ireland's leading organists will play Bach's Great Eighteen Chorale Preludes from his Leipzig period.
