It is, essentially, the beautiful south-west corner of Ireland that begins around Kinsale and continues westwards over enchanting hills, through charming villages and along a magical rugged coastline, taking in Mizen Head, Sheep’s Head and the Beara Peninsula. It certainly feels like it. Its timeless island-like atmosphere, caressed by the mildest climate (courtesy of the Gulf Stream at the end of its garden) helps make West Cork the perfect getaway. Every weekend brings a new, exciting event to this special part of the world: Arts and crafts, storytelling, whale watching, film festivals, family fairs, mountain climbs and fair weather hiking, surfing and traditional music… and that’s just for starters.
