The Last Picture House (Clonmany): Rewinding a Community's Cinema Memory.
This project aims to preserve the story of the old picture house in St. Mary's Hall, including the recently rediscovered original 35mm projectors, and most importantly, the memories of the people who filled its seats.

Please share this with anyone who remembers the old cinema, has stories, photographs, or memorabilia, or would like to support the project. Together, we can create a lasting archive of local history and community memories for future generations before these stories are lost forever.

Please share. Please give what you can. Every memory matters. 🎥

We asked the designer of our 2026 film festival poster to incorporate an iconic local landmark from the area, but can you guess what it is? 👀

Drop your guesses below, one correct answer will get an AAF (Access All Films) pass to this October’s festival. 🎬👇

Hint: it might not be the most obvious landmark…

This time last week, Disappear Here Film Club was back on tour - this time visiting a working farm near Dunree. We screened Mohammad Zwhara’s powerful documentary On My Land, a film that lays bare the devastating realities and human consequences of military occupation in Palestine.

A huge thank you to our wonderful hosts, Bernard De Ceuster and his wife Sinead, for welcoming us onto their beautiful Muineagh Organic farm, showing us around, and preparing an amazing spread of food for everyone who attended.

As always, thanks to Change Makers Donegal & Concern Worldwide for partnering with us on this monthly film event. 🎥

At just 26, Mohammad Zwahra has seen a lifetime of pain and suffering alongside other Palestinians living in the West Bank. A photojournalist, farmer and human rights activist from Bethlehem, Mohammad’s film ‘On My Land’ depicts the brutal consequences of military occupation in Palestine.

We felt it was important to screen this compelling documentary on an actual working farm here in Donegal, helping to connect the issues explored in the film to a local landscape and community.

Our exclusive Disappear Here Film Club screening this Friday is followed by a panel discussion with the filmmaker, (moderated by festival director Michael McLaughlin) & is now completely sold out. *waiting list is active

As always, huge thanks to Change Makers Donegal and Concern Worldwide for partnering with us on this monthly film event. 🎥
