Santa and the elves waved goodbye to the village tonight and set off home to the North Pole. A huge Thank You to everyone who was a part of Believe this year, the model village staff, our elves and all our lovely Visitors.

Our last week has officially started and while we’ve seen many smiles and jolly children, we are looking forward to seeing many more over the next 6 days. We have only a few more tickets left, on the 22nd & 23rd for believe 2025. If you’ve been thinking of coming, now is your chance!

Getting worried about the weather tomorrow? We will remain open with the Orange Warning. Most of the visit is indoors, you do have to go outside to board the train at the platform so dress appropriately. We can’t swap bookings as we’re full booked for the final weekend. We are adding a few extra activities in the cafe and bringing our entertainment elves inside.

Our ASD morning is tomorrow and we are proud to say that all our members of staff have training from As I Am.

We make sure we are looking after all our guests everyday and tomorrow is just the same. We welcome you with open arms. If you need any extra support along the way we are here to help make your visit magical.

Ho ho ho… well, what do we have here? You see, my dear friends, Believe at the Model Railway Village isn’t just an experience, it’s a doorway. A doorway into wonder, imagination, and a little town that’s full of heart. When you step inside, you’re not just meeting me, oh no. You’re stepping into a story stitched together by the people of Clonakilty itself. The dreamers, the makers, the friendly faces behind every little shop and café. And that special bag you’re given during your visit? Why, that’s not just a bag at all! It’s a gentle invitation to wander through the town, to discover treasures at the shoe shop, the toy store, and cosy cafés, places where Christmas truly lives. Especially since today is another great day to shop due to our shopping day. Because here in Clonakilty, magic doesn’t end when you leave the village, it continues here in town. So go on: believe in Christmas, believe in magic, and most of all, believe in the joy of keeping it local. Ho ho ho… I’ll be seeing you very soon.

Meet the Designer behind BELIEVE.

I’m Michelle and I’m the Creative Director of Believe & the owner of Michelle Mitton
Design Gallery, a design-led gift shop in the heart of Clonakilty Town Centre, Est.1999.
I moved to Ireland in 1998 from the UK where I studied Fashion Design at John Moores
University, Liverpool. After graduating I worked on set design for Brookside & Hollyoaks and
then costume design at The Liverpool Everyman Theatre and the English National Theatre.
This is my second year of running Believe at The Model Village in Clonakilty. The concept and
design for this event has been developed by myself and my daughter Alice. We’ve tried to
create a Nostalgic Christmas Experience that you can enjoy as a family, within the timeless
beauty of the Model Village.
This event is brought to life by every member of the Clonakilty Model Village Family from prop
design and making, painting, model makers, event marketing, management and front of house.
