With Heavy Hearts (and Empty Steins) 🍺

Well, this is about as fun as a pretzel without mustard. Due to circumstances completely beyond our control, we have to cancel this year's Dublin Oktoberfest.

We know, we know – you've been practicing your lederhosen poses and perfecting your "Prost!" pronunciation all year. Trust us, we're just as gutted as you are. The bratwurst will have to wait, the oompah band is packing up their tubas, and somewhere, a very sad pretzel is wondering what it did wrong.

But here's the good news: refunds have been processed, so keep an eye on your accounts over the next few days.

We promise we'll be back next year if we can find the right venue.

Until then, raise a glass at home and remember: Oktoberfest isn't cancelled in our hearts.

FRIDAY NIGHT LINEUP: When Dublin Does Oktoberfest Properly 🎵

ZOE CLARKE - Our Grafton Street busking queen trades cobblestones for the big stage! This singer-songwriter knows how to work a crowd (she's had plenty of practice dodging tourists with oversized shopping bags).

POGUEOLOGY - A Pogues tribute band that promises all the "passion, energy and mayhem" of the originals. Translation: prepare for beautifully chaotic Irish folk that'll have you singing along to songs you didn't even know you knew, while questioning your life choices in the best possible way.

4-11PM - Seven glorious hours of live music, steins clinking, and that perfect moment when Irish trad meets German oompah and somehow it all makes perfect sense.

Pro tip: Pace yourself early - it's a marathon, not a sprint, and Shane MacGowan's ghost will be judging your stamina.
