🎃 Drava Forester 2025 – The "unlucky" 13th Edition with Sunshine, Laughter and Great Disc Golf

The 13th edition of Drava Forester took place in Varaždin from October 31 to November 2, with additional activities starting already mid-week. Despite its “unlucky” number, the event turned out nearly perfect – with warm weather, great atmosphere, and plenty of shared moments both on and off the course.

A total of 61 players from eight countries took part in the tournament, played on a temporary layout next to the Varaždin Arena, featuring two course setups adapted for different divisions. In addition to the main competition, the program included a welcome dinner, team-building games, shared meals, and evening parties that have become a trademark part of the event.

In the MPO division, the most successful was Erkka Leivo from Finland, who confidently held his lead until the end. Japi Pistokoski (Finland) finished second, while Stanislaus Amann from Austria took third place. In the FPO division, Ira Molnar Gorički from Croatia claimed the victory, ahead of Elizaveta Chul (Montenegro) and Cornelia Hackl (Austria).

Throughout the three tournament days, players enjoyed exceptional weather, while side events such as the “Team Game”, “Park It!” contest, traditional raffle, Helloween party, Dress code party, and the ever-entertaining Drava Forester Model show brought extra fun and laughter.

Once again, Drava Forester proved to be one of the most unique and joyful disc golf events in the region – combining competition, friendship, music, costumes, and the true spirit of autumn.

The next, 14th edition will return in the Halloween period of 2026, from October 30 to November 1, with new ideas and the familiar atmosphere that makes Drava Forester so special.

From October 25 to 27 we will run the 12th edition od Drava Forester - annual disc golf party event presented by unicörn.
Drava Forester has evolved over the years, transitioning from a simple PDGA tournament into a comprehensive event centered around disc golf, where the sport almost becomes a backdrop for lively daily activities stretching from sunrise to late night.
It's a gathering that brings together a dedicated community of players from over ten nations each year, creating an atmosphere of friendship and endless laughter. If you're someone who enjoys socializing, attending this event solo is a surefire way to leave with numerous new friends and a deep desire to return in just twelve months.
In addition to standard MPO and FPO divisions that play on three days we have added special GOLD division that will include both genders, and will play ONLY Round 2 (Saturday morning) and Round 3 (Sunday morning) so those who can't escape work on Friday can still join us and be a part of 12th Drava Forester.

The 11th Drava Forester presented by unicörn is over! With 62 players of 11 nations the event was once again a crazy roller coaster of disc golf rounds combined with a lot of laughs during multiple side events.

The PDGA side of the event, not necessarily the most important one, but the one that rounds up the whole gathering, was completed on Sunday early afternoon.

In the FPO division it was Andreja Bernjak who took the win and her third consecutive Drava Forester title, in front of Danica Pajtak and Marjo Huhtala.

In the FPO we have seen a thrilling 6-hole finals where, after three holes played, it was four players who were looking to secure a win, but in the end it was Japi Pistokoski who managed to defend his title and take home 2nd Drava Forester title. Teemu Malmelin, a winner of Drava Forester 2014, ended up as second while Ari Penttala and Otfried Derschmidt shared the third place on the podium.

Big thanks to the German disc golf clothing brand unicörn for helping us run the event.

The PDGA event of the 9th Drava Forester has ended today with the third round and the finals for top 5 MPO and FPO players played on the six holes in front of the gallery.

In the Purple division, open for players of both gender rated below 800, Adrian Liber took the win shooting three rounds in average at 796, just where the line for this division is, and ending up the event at 47 over par. Toni Denona took second with +76 while Danijela Karanovic ended up on the third place with +88. This division did not play the 6-hole finals.

In the FPO Andreja Bernjak (+19) took the win, while, after some fierce battle, Ana Gorički (+33) ended up second just two strokes in front of the Katerina Zbytovska (+35).

In the MPO Bevelacqua Zack and Derek Robins were tied for the lead before the final six holes, and even though it seemed that Zack run away with the win, on the 5th hole he took a bogey while Derek took the birdie and they ended up tied again at the end of the event. Decision on the winner was made on the first hole of the sudden death (5th hole of the finals was played), where Zack parked it, and Derek did not keep up, landed OB and had to shake Zack’s hand. Both Zack and Derek were the only players ending the event under par, at -9. Tomislav Gorički took the third place with +2.

The history was written in Varaždin last night as Christoph Jahn (Herr Rippe) becomes first ever back-to-back Drava Forester model! Six candidates were selected as the best dressed in respect to the dress code set at green/white/orange and each of them had to answer a question for the jury, with the help of the audience, to select the Drava Forester model 2021.

Stefan Ignjatovic, Benedikt Reynir Andrésson AKA Ice B, Adrian Liber, Christoph Jahn (Herr Rippe), Arto Myllylä and Vanja Brozović were up on a stage and after answering their questions, three were left for the voice of the crowd to be heard – claps for Stefan were solid, booos for Rippe were loud, and silence for Ice B was not super silent.
In the end, after responding that his celebrity guest invitation for Drava Forester would be Ricky Wysocki, to see Joseph Kelleher throwing his signed Dagger into to the Drava, has won it again.

Rippe, as a winner, had a chance to choose colors for the 2022 Drava Forester dress code and, after negotiating with the Lagoda organizing crew, the choice was made that at 10th Drava Forester everyone will be wearing brown, pink and gold!

Start visiting second hand shops and buy top looking wardrobe to be in the competition!

BTW, for some reason Facebook doesn't allow us to post videos along, so check out the comments for what each finalist has said :)
