【「The 9th Asia Pacific Deaf Games」Prize Quiz - Round 2】

The 9th Asia Pacific Deaf Games will be held in Hong Kong from 1 to 11 November 2019.

There are 12 sports including athletics, badminton, basketball, bowling, football, futsal, judo, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis and beach volleyball.

岩岩過左9月18日香港手語日，唔知你地對手語了解有幾多呢?等我話你地知啦!💁🏻💁🏻‍♂

其實手語都係一種語言，有語法💬、有詞彙🗃唔止肢體表達咁簡單，手語作為一種視覺語言，只要雙方視線所及，便可表情達意。

香港手語係指香港🇭🇰定居的聾人使用的語言。現今既香港手語主要有2⃣種：一種是中文手語，即係逐個字順序打出；而另一種就係自然手語，以「重點在前，問句量詞在後」為原則，方便以視覺形態👀令聾人可以迅速理解說話內容🙆🏻‍♀。

每個國家🌎的手語因應文化、習俗同生活習慣差異而唔一樣，如果要召開一場屬於聾人的國際運動會就會困難重重，為了比不同國家的聽障朋友方便溝通✋🏼，國際手語就成為左共通既溝通方法啦。🤗

國際手語 (IS) (亦被稱為 Gestuno) 係一個常用於國際性活動上的國際輔助語（特別係聾人Deaflympis奧運及世界聾人會議上WFD）可視為一種非自然形成既人工手語，當不同國家的人聚埋一齊，佢地會揀一個常用既表達方式去溝通✋🏼冇標準既比法，只要可以清楚呈現，呢個就係國際手語既特色🤝。

On September 18, Hong Kong Sign Language Day has just passed. How much do you know about sign language? Let us tell you more! 💁🏻💁🏻‍♂

Actually sign language is a language with grammar💬 and vocabulary 🗃. It is not just a physical expression. Sign language is a visual language. As long as the two sides look at each other, they can express their feelings.

Hong Kong Sign Language refers to the language used by the Deaf and hard of hearing who live in Hong Kong🇭🇰. There are 2⃣ main types of sign language in Hong Kong now. One is Chinese grammar sign language, each word is played in sequence, and the other is natural sign language. The principle is "focus on the front and ask the quantifiers in the back"🙆🏻‍♀. So that the Deaf can use their sight👀 to quickly understand what the other party say.

The sign language of each country🌎 is different according to the differences of culture, customs and living habits. If you want to hold an international sports meeting for the Deaf and hard of hearing , it will be very difficult. In order to facilitate the communication✋🏼 of Deaf and hard of hearing from different countries, international sign language has become a common way of communication.🤗

International Sign Language (IS) (also known as Gestuno) is an international auxiliary language commonly used in international activities (especially at the Deaflympics and the World Federation of the Deaf congress) can be regarded as an unnatural formation of both artificial sign. When people from different countries come together, they will use a common expression to communicate✋🏼. There is no standard practice, as long as it can be clearly presented. This is the characteristic of IS🤝.

📣📣我地即將舉辦兩項重要比賽項目🥋，打頭陣既係跆拳道🇰🇷(taekwondo)於11月2至3號進行，柔道🇯🇵(judo)則緊隨其後於11月9號進行。我地率先為大家簡略講下兩者之間既分別，屆時觀賞正式賽事時就唔怕傻傻分不清了😆✍🏻

柔道起源於1882年日本🇯🇵，以防守為主。比賽裡選手會利用各種近距離技術，包括摔擲或絆倒、壓制及扭關節等🗯，目的係令對手重心不穩或屈服。柔道所涉及既大部分技術著重手部運用✋👊，因此我地喺柔道比賽裡鮮有看到直接踢腿或用腳推撞既畫面🙅🏻‍♀。反之，呢類動作喺跆拳道比賽裡經常出現。跆拳道係由🇰🇷朝鮮武術家於1940至50年代期間發展出新一套集攻守於一身。同柔道相比，跆拳道傾重於腿部及膝蓋運用🦵🦶，選手喺比賽裡需要展示一連串拳腳技術以踢中、攔阻、撞擊及衝擊對手🗯。我地日常看到既斷板表演，亦係跆拳道眾多技術裡既其中一種。

希望以上小小資訊可以幫到大家更加投入去觀賞賽事⭐🙌你地既熱烈支持無疑係對一班運動員既鼓勵黎架❣💓

📣📣We are going to hold two kinds of sport events🥋, one is scheduled on 2-3 Nov for taekwondo🇰🇷, and another one is scheduled on 9 Nov for judo🇯🇵. Prior to the upcoming competitions, let us tell you a little difference of styles between them😆✍🏻

Judo was originated in 1882 in Japan🇯🇵 with more emphasis on defensive maneuvers. To prevail over an opponent, the judo fighters are required to utilize a variety of close range techniques by hands ✋👊 to either steal an opponent's base or subdue an opponent, such as throwing or tripping, pinning, joint lock, etc.🗯 Strikes and thrusts by feet are not allowed in judo combats🙅🏻‍♀. Conversely, these movements are frequently involved in taekwondo, a new form that is capable of both offence and defence was developed by 🇰🇷Korean martial artists during the 1940s and 50s. In taekwondo combats, the players have to conduct a series of sparring or free-form fighting by feet and knees🦵🦶, including kicks, blocks, strikes and punches🗯. Board breaking which is often seen in demonstration is one of the kicking techniques in taekwondo.

我地琴日出席左聾人福利促進會(聾福會)搞既香港手語日2019啟動禮💡，今次活動既亮點⭐就係新出既手語樂融👐🏻既board game🕹啦，呢隻game係以聽障人士四處奔走購物🛍🛍既場景，讓玩家感受下用手語既樂趣😃，亦都藉此體會到聽障人士係日常生活中面對既挑戰💪🏼。

聾福會為有效推廣「香港手語日」，每年邀請來自唔同界別既人士👨🏼‍🎨👨‍🔬👩🏻‍⚕👩🏼‍🌾，拍攝宣傳短片🎬，宣揚手語唔單止係聽障人士既語言💬，亦都係每個人都可以學習同做到既事情✅，從而推廣至社會大小社群，積極體驗學習手語的樂趣，促進聾健共融❣。

呢個理念其實同亞聾運好相似架🤗，亞聾運旨在推廣聾人文化，提高公眾對聾人群體既認知👀，除左藉體育運動互相連繫🤝之外，手語亦都可以拉近聾人運動員同各界人士既距離，打破隔膜，體會到運動員背後付出既努力🥺令香港既聾健共融更進一步🏃🏻‍♂🏃🏻‍♀。

Yesterday, we attended the Hong Kong Sign Language Day 2019 Launching Ceremony💡 organized by the Hong Kong Society for the Deaf (HKSD). It’s worth introducing ⭐that the new board game 🕹is called "SIGN for fun"👐🏻. This game is a scene where the deaf/hearing impaired people go shopping🛍🛍, let the players feel the fun 😃of learning sign language, and also experience what the deaf/hearing impaired face in daily life💪🏼.

In order to effectively promote the Hong Kong sign language, HKSD invites people from different sectors👨🏼‍🎨👨‍🔬👩🏻‍⚕👩🏼‍🌾, to film promotional videos 🎬every year. Promoting sign language is not only by the conversation💬, but also anytime anywhere people can do✅. This can promote the community to actively experience the pleasures of learning sign language and the harmony in our society❣.

Actually this concept is very similar to our APDG🤗. The APDG aims to promote the culture of the deaf and raise the public's awareness 👀of the deaf community. In addition to connect with each other through sports🤝, sign language can also make the athletes be close to people from different sectors, shorten their distance and experience the athletes’ effort made 🥺. This can indeed to cultivate Hong Kong’s harmonious society🏃🏻‍♂🏃🏻‍♀!

繼上星期提到傳統足球(football)同室內五人足球(futsal)之間既淵源，今日主要講下網球(tennis)🎾同桌球/乒乓球(table tennis)🏓。你可能會認為兩種個別存在既運動毫無關係，🙅🏻‍♀🙅🏻‍♂其實不然，實際上桌球係由網球演變而成的。

有關桌球🏓既起源，主要有兩個版本💁🏻‍♀💁🏻‍♂。第一種說法要追溯到19世紀維多利亞時代，當時網球🎾運動喺英格蘭🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿早已掀起一股熱潮，某一天歐洲人👱🏻‍♀👱🏻‍♂因天氣不佳⛈同空間有限🏘而沒法打網球，佢地靈機一動，以桌子、書本同硬紙等作為替代工具，將網球既精髓帶到室內。第二種說法發生喺19世紀既英屬印度，有幾名英藉海軍軍官👨🏼‍✈️👨🏽‍✈️以輕巧小球代替網球，以木板代替網拍，將網球運動改造成一種可以喺桌子上進行既球類運動，當時被稱為桌上網球/桌球，並成功喺世界各地🌏帶起另一股熱潮。隨後有一間專門生產桌球運動器材既英國製造商，採用桌球對戰時產生既「乒乓」聲響💥為其品牌名稱並註冊商標®️™️，於是就咁樣慢慢發展成為今天既乒乓球了🇬🇧👏

同室內五人足球一樣，桌球🏓同樣被視為球類運動既「後代」。今時今日各式各樣新興體育既出現，令我地不得不讚歎人類智慧🧠同創新能力🌟

顯而易見，桌球🏓既術語同運球技巧大部分都由網球🎾衍生而來。正所謂讀萬卷書📚不如行萬里路👣，是咁的我地黎緊既網球同桌球比賽🏆🏅即將喺11月頭舉行，想進一步了解既話就唔好錯過今次機會喇😆

Last week we introduced the relationship between football and futsal. Let's now introduce to you all the story about tennis🎾 and table tennis🏓. You might think that these two types of sports are individual and irrelevant. 🙅🏻‍♀🙅🏻‍♂Instead, the fact is that table tennis is a variant of tennis.

There are two versions of the story for the origin of table tennis🏓 💁🏻‍♀💁🏻‍♂. The first one traces back to the 19th century in Victorian England🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 where most of the people were fascinated by tennis🎾. One day, the Europeans👱🏻‍♀👱🏻‍♂ found difficulties in playing tennis due to the bad weather⛈ and limited space🏘. At that moment they had a new idea💡 to bring the essence of tennis into indoor space, by using table, book, stiff paper, etc. as alternative tools.
The second one comes from British India in the 19th century, suggesting that this new type of tennis being played on the table was proposed by British military officers👨🏼‍✈️👨🏽‍✈️. They replaced heavy tennis ball and tennis racket with small and lighter ball and wood plack respectively, leading to the popularity of table tennis all over the world🌏. After that, a British manufacturer of table tennis equipment took the sound "ping-pong"💥 which was produced during matches as a brand name to register a trademark®️™️. That's how table tennis was born in United Kingdom🇬🇧👏

Like futsal, table tennis🏓 is treated as the "next generation" of ball games. We are deeply impressed by human wisdom🧠 and creativity🌟 which lead to a variety of newly arising sports activities for us today.

香港聾人體育總會(聾體會)是一間非牟利團體，也是作為第九屆亞太聾人／聽障運動會(APDG)主辦機構。聾體會喺香港擔當好重要既角色⭐，舉辦過香港大小規模聾人體育賽事🏆，例如全港聾人乒乓球錦標賽🏓、全港聾人羽毛球錦標賽🏸等等，力促本地聾人/聽障運動員既體育發展🏋🏽‍♀🤾🏻‍♂⛹🏻‍♂，亦都選拔了超過60位運動員去參加亞聾運的8大運動比賽，互相切磋交流🤝。

唔講真係唔知，原來聾體會喺亞太聾人體育聯合會(APDSC)既成員之一，一直都會同其他國家既體育機構建立良好關係🤝🤝。今屆APDG喺香港舉行，對聾體會黎講係個好有意義又重大既美麗任務💕💕大家記得多多支持啊！🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

The Hong Kong Sports Association of the Deaf (HKSAD) is a non-profit organization who is the organiser of the 9th Asia Pacific Deaf Games. The HKSAD plays an important role in Hong Kong⭐ in developing the local deaf sports developmet🏋🏽‍♀🤾🏻‍♂⛹🏻‍♂ by holding various sports events of any scale for the deaf in Hong Kong🏆, such as Table Tennis Championships for the Deaf
🏓 and Badminton Championships for the Deaf🏸, etc. Now over 60 athletes have been by the HKSAD to participate in 8 sports in the APDG, so that they could learn and exchange with athletics from different countries each other🤝.

You may never know that HKSAD is one of the members of the Asia Pacific Deaf Sports Confederation(APDSC). The HKSAD always maintains a good relationship with other sport organizations in a variety of countries🤝🤝. The coming APDG will be held in Hong Kong, what a meaningful and important task 💕💕for HKSAD, let us support them!🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

你何曾見過踢⚽喺室內硬地球場裡，而球員人數看似少左一半呢？🧐佢就係室內五人足球(futsal)，由傳統足球(football)演變而成。佢同傳統足球裡每隊11名球員唔同，規定每隊只派出5位球員上場，所以比賽時間較短⏳，亦通常喺較細既室內場地進行🥅。
除此之外，室內五人足球同傳統足球兩者之間喺比賽規則上有啲分別。例如前者禁止鏟球同越位，後者則容許。又例如換人上場，前者可以自由換人而不受任何限制，而後者則只有最多三次換人機會。
想了解多啲👀就密切留意下我地黎緊的足球同室內五人足球比賽，比賽將會喺10月31至11月11號期間舉行🗓。一同為一班運動員打下氣！

Have you ever seen ⚽ was played indoors on a hard court, and the number of players seems to be reduced by half?🧐Yes it is a variant of football called futsal. Unlike a football team which requires 11 players, futsal is played by only 5 players on each team, resulting in a shorter duration of the game⏳ and usually within smaller indoor spaces🥅.
In addition, futsal differs somewhat from football in terms of competition rules, for example, tackle and offside are prohibited in futsal matches but allowed in football ones. For futsal, each team can freely make substitutions without any limit while football only allows up to a maximum of 3 substitutes during each match.
To know them well, keep an eye👀 on our upcoming football and futsal matches which will be held from 31 Oct to 11 Nov🗓. Let's pump up our athletes!

為了令11月盛大的亞太聾人/聽障運動會順利進行🏋🏽‍♀，我地香港聾人體育總會（聾體會）已招募了超過600人！！👏🏻我地聾體會聯同香港志願者協會、香港聾人協進會於7月21同9月7號舉行左志願者培訓工作坊📝，讓志願者了解更多運動會流程同每個工作崗位，好讓世界各地既運動員感受到賓至如歸感覺☺，也能夠得到全面既支援💪🏼。
在工作坊過程中，志願者們好投入去聽簡介會，仲好雀躍地學習手語添😆，睇黎大家都好期待11月重要時刻既來臨呢！🤩🤩🤩

In order to make our Games go smoothly 🏋🏽‍♀，the Hong Kong Association of the Deaf has recruited over 600 volunteers!!! 👏🏻We held two volunteer training workshops with the Hong Kong Volunteers Association (HKVA) and the Hong Kong Association of the Deaf (HKAD) on 21 July and 7 September for the volunteers📝. During the workshops, they learnt more about the operation of our Games and the job duties of the volunteers, so that athletes around the world can feel at home and supportive!💪
Throughout the workshop, the volunteers are eager to learn and happy to learn sign language😆, we are all looking forward to the important moment in November!🤩🤩🤩

多謝天乙慈愛基金會邀請我地出席8月14號喺麥花臣場館舉行嘅《左大俠正能量慈善演唱會2019》🎶🎵 ,而我地的吉祥物亞龍就趁此機會喺舞台同左大俠跳起舞來, 與歌迷見面同互動, 同大家一齊宣傳黎緊11月喺香港舉辦既「亞太聾人/聽障運動會」,現場氣氛好不熱烈！！🤩🤩

Thank you for TY Caring Foundation's invitation on 2019 Charity Concert of Peter Cho 🎶🎵, which was held on 14 August at Macpherson Stadium. Our mascot Ar Lung was joining the concert together as well! Apart from dancing with Peter Cho and interacting with fans, Ar Lung also promoted the 9th Asia Pacific Deaf Games Hong Kong 2019 to be held in coming November to everyone. What a enthusiastic scene!🤩🤩
