《大宗師》－The Unsung Masters

莊子在作品《大宗師》中，歌頌值得敬仰與尊崇之人，並指人生不應滿足於現狀，提倡人們應追求最高境界為最終目標，在過程中人們會不斷進步與成長，從而實現自我的價值。

在運動比賽中，選手同樣不應滿足現狀，每分每刻都需尋求突破步入極臻之境，能否跨越高牆成為「大宗師」全取決於其心態，在逆境之下所做的每一個決定都可能會讓你蛻變。

正如香港桌球界一樣，在面臨降級逆境並於疫情之下，迎難而上舉辦「香港世界桌球大師賽 2022」，希望能為香港桌球運動帶來轉機。這些為香港桌球堅持信念不肯放棄的人有沒有能力成為「大宗師」？

In Zhuangzi's classic piece of literature 'The Grandmaster,' he praises individuals worthy of admiration and respect, emphasizing that one should not be satisfied with the status quo. He advocates for the pursuit of higher realms as the ultimate goal in life, stressing the importance of constant improvement and growth to realize one's own value.

Similarly to athletes, who should never be complacent about the status quo. They must constantly seek breakthroughs and strive for excellence at every moment. Whether they can overcome barriers and become "grandmasters" ultimately depends on their mindset. Every decision made under adversity has the potential to transform them.

Hong Kong billiard sports, while facing the possibility of relegation in the elite system and being affected by the pandemic, took on the formidable challenge of organizing the "Hong Kong Masters 2022", hoping to turn the tide for the sport. Do these people who hold on to their strong belief in the sports have the ability to transform into “grandmasters”?

去年於香港體育館舉辦的「香港世界桌球大師賽 2022」贏得不少好評，而在成功背後有賴不少人付出和貢獻，這部紀錄片《大宗師》希望能讓大家瞭解是次比賽舉辦的初衷，並且更認識香港桌球。

香港桌球作為體院精英項目正面臨降級危機，在確認 2026 年桌球無緣參加名古屋亞運後，形勢比以往更嚴峻。這紀錄片希望能讓大眾知道目前香港桌球界的處境和業界如何面對困境，並提出長遠關於運動發展的問題給觀眾思考。

香港桌球紀錄片《大宗師》將於 8 月 18 日下午 4 :00 在 YouTube 進行首播，敬請留意。

The "Hong Kong Masters 2022" held at the Hong Kong Coliseum last year received widespread acclaim. The success of the event was made possible by the efforts and contributions of many individuals. The documentary film "The Unsung Masters" aims to provide an insight on the original objectives behind organizing this tournament and to foster a deeper understanding of billiard sports in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong billiard sports as an elite sport in the Sports Institute is currently facing the threat of relegation. With the confirmation that billiard sports will not be included in the 2026 Nagoya Asian Games, the situation has become even more critical. This documentary seeks to let the public know about the current challenges facing Hong Kong billiard sports, how the billiard sports community respond in times of adversity, and raise the question on long-term development of a sport for the viewers to think about.

The Hong Kong billiards documentary "The Unsung Masters" will premiere on YouTube at 4:00p.m. on 18 August. Stay tuned for it!

趁今日打風小編都番睇一下今次大師賽嘅posts，嗰陣都真係無諗過會出現147㗎，仲要係咁難忘，我哋香港嘅神奇小子 Marco Fu 傅家俊 係有史以來最多現場觀眾嘅主場打出，奠定勝局入決賽🥳

呢個147相信成為咗唔少香港人疫情以來最熱血，最感動嘅其中一個回憶🙌🏻 我地在後台嘅人很多都感動到流淚。 當日在現場嘅你有什麼感受？一於實行將每年嘅7月14日定為147日，去紀念呢件咁值得香港人驕傲嘅事啦😆

As we get struck by a typhoon in Hong Kong, let’s take this opportunity to review some of our older posts! 👀 When we first put forward the idea of 147 day, we did not expect that a maximum break would be made in the Hong Kong Masters. It was particularly memorable as it the 147 was made by our local pride Marco Fu, in front of the largest ever live audience, in a deciding frame to go to the final! 🥳

We believe this 147 break has become one of the most emotional memories to a lot of Hong Kong people. Many officials at back stage broke into tears at that moment. How did you feel when you witnessed it live in the audience? To remember this collective and proud memory of Hong Kong people, let’s make 14 July our 147 day😆

一星期前，「神奇小子」傅家俊同「世一」奧蘇利雲喺近九千名香港觀眾前上演咗一場夢幻對決；一星期後，唔知大家係咪都同Marco一樣，經歷完大師賽後有種「開心的失落」呢？

再一次感謝各合作單位及香港巿民嘅鼎力支持，令今屆香港世界桌球大師賽2022能夠順利舉行，香港人可以睇到咁多場好波🙌🏻

好開心今次大師賽為桌球界開拓咗新的睇波模式，球手同觀眾們都可以享受幾千人一齊睇波嘅熱鬧氣氛。誠如Marco所講，桌球已「精英化、盛事化、普及化」，希望大家會繼續關注同支持本地桌球發展，我哋亦都會努力爭取下一次大師賽唔需要睽違五載先至再舉行，希望好快可以同各位球迷再見👋🏻
