We are delighted to welcome Con Estilo Tango as the live orchestra of the first edition of Athens Dances Tango.

Rooted in the sound of tango’s Golden Age, the orchestra moves through the driving rhythm of Juan D’Arienzo, the dramatic intensity of Osvaldo Pugliese, the expressive depth of Aníbal Troilo and the unmistakable elegance of Carlos Di Sarli.

Με αφετηρία τον ήχο της Χρυσής Εποχής του tango, η ορχήστρα κινείται από τον εκρηκτικό ρυθμό του Juan D’Arienzo στη δραματική ένταση του Osvaldo Pugliese, την εκφραστικότητα του Aníbal Troilo και την αξεπέραστη φινέτσα του Carlos Di Sarli.

We are delighted to welcome Nikos Papadimitriou & Nefeli Koumarianou from Tango Home to the first edition of Athens Dances Tango.

Dancers, teachers and founders of Tango Home – Argentine Tango in Athens, Nikos & Nefeli share an approach to tango rooted in musicality, connection and the intimacy of the embrace.

Their dance moves between stillness and intensity; long pauses, subtle dialogue and sudden changes of dynamics create a distinctive language where every movement carries intention and emotion.

Through teaching, performances and cultural projects in Greece and abroad, they continue to share their vision of tango while cultivating a vibrant and creative community in Athens.

Χορευτές, δάσκαλοι και ιδρυτές του Tango Home – Argentine Tango in Athens, ο Νίκος και η Νεφέλη μοιράζονται μια προσέγγιση στο tango που βασίζεται στη μουσικότητα, τη σύνδεση και την ουσιαστική επικοινωνία της αγκαλιάς.

Ο χορός τους κινείται ανάμεσα στην ακινησία και την ένταση, μεγάλες παύσεις, εσωτερικός διάλογος και απότομες αλλαγές δυναμικής δημιουργούν μια ιδιαίτερη χορευτική γλώσσα, όπου κάθε κίνηση έχει πρόθεση και συναίσθημα.

Μέσα από τη διδασκαλία, τις παραστάσεις και τις πολιτιστικές τους δράσεις στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό, μοιράζονται το δικό τους όραμα για το tango, καλλιεργώντας παράλληλα μια ζωντανή και δημιουργική κοινότητα στην Αθήνα.

Some partnerships are built through time — through years of dancing, learning, creating and discovering a shared language in the embrace.

We are delighted to welcome Fotis Kakkiou & Lindia Mouschounti from Academia Del Tango to the first edition of Athens Dances Tango.

Dancing together since 2016, Fotis & Lindia have performed and taught throughout Greece, developing a distinctive partnership both on stage and in the classroom. Their journey includes 3rd place in Tango Stage at the European Tango Championship in London in 2022 and 2024, and Warsaw in 2026, as well as their appearance in “Tango vs Flamenco” at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus.

For Fotis & Lindia, tango is above all a form of communication — an intimate dialogue between two people, expressed through the embrace.

Another couple. Another story. Another part of the community that continues to shape tango in Greece.

Κάποιες συνεργασίες χτίζονται μέσα στον χρόνο — μέσα από χρόνια χορού, εξέλιξης, δημιουργίας και αναζήτησης μιας κοινής γλώσσας μέσα στην αγκαλιά.

Με μεγάλη χαρά υποδεχόμαστε τους Fotis Kakkiou & Lindia Mouschounti από την Academia Del Tango στην πρώτη διοργάνωση του Athens Dances Tango.

Χορεύοντας μαζί από το 2016, ο Φώτης και η Λίντια έχουν εμφανιστεί και διδάξει σε όλη την Ελλάδα, διαμορφώνοντας τη δική τους ξεχωριστή συνεργασία τόσο στη σκηνή όσο και στη διδασκαλία. Στη διαδρομή τους έχουν κατακτήσει την 3η θέση στην κατηγορία Tango Stage του European Tango Championship στο Λονδίνο το 2022 και το 2024 και στη Βαρσοβία το 2026, ενώ το 2021 συμμετείχαν στην παράσταση «Tango vs Flamenco» στο Ωδείο Ηρώδου του Αττικού.

Για τον Φώτη και τη Λίντια, το tango είναι πάνω απ’ όλα επικοινωνία — ένας προσωπικός διάλογος ανάμεσα σε δύο ανθρώπους, που εκφράζεται μέσα από την αγκαλιά.

Ένα ακόμη ζευγάρι. Μια ακόμη ιστορία. Ένα ακόμη κομμάτι της κοινότητας που συνεχίζει να διαμορφώνει το tango στην Ελλάδα.

Some artists become part of a community not only through what they create on stage, but through the years they dedicate to it.

We are delighted to welcome Gabriel Marino & Vasia Thanopoulou to the first edition of Athens Dances Tango.

Dancing together since 2016, Gabriel & Vasia have performed at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, toured Greece with Tangueros del Sur, and taken their tango to the milongas of Buenos Aires. Today, as founders and instructors of El Abrazo Tango School, they continue to teach, perform and contribute actively to the Argentine Tango community in Greece.

For our first edition, it was important that the festival did not simply bring artists to Athens, but also gave space to the artists who have helped shape the community that already lives here.

Υπάρχουν καλλιτέχνες που γίνονται μέρος μιας κοινότητας όχι μόνο μέσα από όσα δημιουργούν στη σκηνή, αλλά και μέσα από τα χρόνια που αφιερώνουν σε αυτή.

Με μεγάλη χαρά υποδεχόμαστε τους Gabriel Marino & Vasia Thanopoulou στην πρώτη διοργάνωση του Athens Dances Tango.

Χορεύοντας μαζί από το 2016, ο Gabriel και η Vasia έχουν εμφανιστεί στο Ωδείο Ηρώδου του Αττικού, έχουν περιοδεύσει στην Ελλάδα με την ομάδα Tangueros del Sur και έχουν παρουσιάσει το tango τους στις milongas του Buenos Aires. Σήμερα, ως ιδρυτές και δάσκαλοι της El Abrazo Tango School, συνεχίζουν να διδάσκουν, να χορεύουν και να συμβάλλουν ενεργά στην εξέλιξη της κοινότητας του Argentine Tango στην Ελλάδα.

Για την πρώτη μας διοργάνωση, ήταν σημαντικό το φεστιβάλ να μη φέρει απλώς καλλιτέχνες στην Αθήνα, αλλά να δώσει χώρο και στους ανθρώπους που έχουν συμβάλει στη διαμόρφωση της κοινότητας που ήδη ζει και δημιουργεί εδώ.

Their artistry, elegance and dedication to Argentine Tango embody the spirit we hope to share through this new festival.

But this is only the beginning.

In the coming weeks, we will gradually reveal more exceptional artists from Argentina, Greece and around the world, together with live music, DJs, venues and many more exciting announcements.

Our vision is simple: to create an international meeting point where artists, musicians and dancers come together in the heart of Athens to celebrate Argentine Tango at its finest.

Η καλλιτεχνική τους πορεία, η αισθητική τους και η αφοσίωσή τους στο Argentine Tango εκφράζουν απόλυτα το πνεύμα που θέλουμε να μοιραστούμε μέσα από αυτή τη νέα διοργάνωση.
