👑 A NEW CHAMPION HAS BEEN CROWNED! 👑
In what many describe as the greatest and most watched final in LASDA football history, Sateba United FC dethroned defending champions Kunkujang Jattaya FC in a dramatic penalty shootout—the longest ever seen, with all twenty-two players stepping up from the spot. Some fans even dubbed it a “century of penalties.”
The match began cautiously, with Sateba United testing the Jattaya defense. Goalkeeper Manfred Mendy stood firm, denying Bubacarr Njie a golden chance. Moments later, Jattaya’s talisman Lamin Jatta threatened, but Sateba’s keeper Ousman T. Bojang matched him save for save.
In the 24th minute, Abdou Bojang was brought down inside the box. Referee Domingo Quarreh pointed to the spot, and Omar Jammeh (Umo) calmly converted to give Sateba the lead. But just before halftime, Jattaya’s Lamin Jatta struck back, leveling the score 1–1 at the break.
The second half was played at a blistering pace, fresh legs, tactical shifts, and relentless pressure from both sides. Yet, after 90 minutes, the score remained locked. Penalties decided the fate of the Replay Cup, and in a nerve-shredding shootout, Sateba United triumphed 9–8.
