Five moments from MOBEX Africa 2025.

The Esports & Gaming panel reinforced gaming as a real economic opportunity for young Africans, with the potential to create careers and support entrepreneurship.

The Innovation & Infrastructure panel concluded that Africa’s digital future depends on building and controlling more of its own infrastructure. Stronger local data systems, better access to devices, African talent, and stronger data protection were identified as key to that future.

In her keynote on Digital Sovereignty: Africa’s Next Development Imperative, Angela Kyerematen-Jimoh emphasized the need for Africa to own its digital infrastructure and data systems to compete globally.

MOBEX Africa 2025 helped define the priorities. In 2026, the focus moves to turning those priorities into action.
