Cameroonian businessman Nassourou Issa has launched a $100 million sugar mill aimed at increasing local sugar production and reducing the country's reliance on imports.
The project is expected to produce 300,000 tonnes of sugar each year by 2028. It is also expected to create jobs and strengthen Cameroon’s agricultural sector.
Construction is already underway, with the project backed by NASCO Group, Société Générale and CCA-Bank.
