Well the dust has finally settled and everything is finally getting packed away again for another year.
Truth be told I've been running dangerously low on spoons for a while now and when I was running around on Friday I had a few sleep deprived and rather teary "this is the final one I don't think I can do it anymore" breakdowns, then as soon as the event kicked off on Friday night and I saw all of the happy faces I started prep for 2027 immediately.
So fear not... ATAY 2027 is well in hand and instructors are mostly already confirmed!
I can't thank everyone enough for all of the help, support and magic that you bring to the weekend. The vibes are always impeccable, and (to quote one attendee who knows exactly who she is) there was lots of WHIMSY. This is exactly what I envisioned ATAY to be all those years ago when we stopped running the BFHS Spring Exchange and decided to go our own way, and it's entirely down to each and every one of you. Whether you learned, fought, taught, assisted, or were just there providing me with oodles of emotional support, I couldn't do this without you all. From the people who helped clean, scrub, clear and tidy, to the amazing women who all came and taught and lectured for us, to the space hopper jousters, amazing fencers and savateurs, dilligent students and fantastic contributers. Once again, from the bottom of my heart... Thank you!
See you in 2027 (if not before!)
