Sometimes, saying goodbye isn't as simple as it sounds.
Frank has one final journey to make. Along the way, he meets Dave, a council worker tasked with surveying the last remaining telephone boxes in the Derbyshire countryside.
What begins as an ordinary morning slowly becomes something much more personal.

So very pleased to be able to confirm Nigel Barber in the role of Frank in new upcoming short film The Last Call.

Nigel has gained the reputation of a respected and uncompromising actor and voiceover artist. Working internationally on stage, in film, television and radio, he has worked with some of our industry's most gifted contributors including Sam Mendes, Christopher McQuarrie, Robert Mullan, Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Billy Zane, Joel Kinnaman, Matthias Schoenaerts, Jane Seymour, Sir Derek Jacobi, Sheridan Smith and David Tennan

Great to have Ray on board with the new short folm The Last Box.
Ray is cast in the role of Dave.
Ive been wanting to work with him for sometime and know that he will bring the character of Dave to scrren in the best possible way.
Ray Redmond came to acting later in life after leaving a busy career working in the Met Police, to relocate to Cornwall with his wife. He trained with a respected theatre company based in the Southwest and now splits his time between west London and south east Cornwall. Ray is represented by Nic Knight Management

There are red telephone boxes all over Derbyshire. Most of them don't work anymore. Some are gone already.

The Last Box is a short film about an old man called Frank, the phone box he's trying to find, and the wife he's carrying with him in a small metal case.

It's funny, then it isn't.

We're crowdfunding to bring it to life, shot on real Derbyshire lanes, with real disappearing phone boxes. If you've ever driven past one of these and wondered how much longer it'll be there — this film is for you.

I will be screening the completed film in December 2026.
I have decided rather then selling tickets for it at the, there is a choice through the crowdfund to secure a ticket and get a credit on the film.

The screening will take place in Wirksworth, date and location to be decided.

ANNOUNCING OUR NEW SHORT FILM: THE LAST BOX
A lonely red telephone box.
A country road.
Two old friends.
And one final goodbye.
We're delighted to announce our new short film, THE LAST BOX — a moving and gently humorous story about love, grief, friendship and knowing when it's finally time to let go.
When widower Frank joins his old friend Dave on a journey between some of Derbyshire's last remaining red telephone boxes, he is searching for the perfect place to leave his late wife's ashes.
But the longer the journey goes on, the clearer it becomes...
He's not really looking for the right place.
He's looking for the strength to say goodbye.
