Celebrating Volunteers' Week
Its National Volunteers Week, all around the country an oppprtunity to celebrate volunteers who give their time to make communities stronger & a better place to live.
Since 1969, when carnival returned to Weston, the organising committee have all been volunteers. For nearly 50 years many have given their time, energy and skills freely because they believe in bringing something special to our town. That is still true for today. A small team working hard to bring you Westons biggest annual event.
Every year, Weston-super-Mare Carnival attracts thousands of people, providing a boost to local businesses and creating memories for families and visitors alike. An event of this scale simply wouldn't happen without volunteers who take nothing and give so much.
But volunteers alone cannot meet the ever-increasing costs of staging a safe and successful carnival. We need the support of our business community too.
If your business benefits from the thousands of people who come into the town on carnival night, or if you simply believe in supporting one of Weston-super-Mare's biggest community events, we'd love to hear from you.
