Black History Month 2026 is coming - let’s make it a year to remember!
The countdown to October has begun, and we’re inviting community groups, organisations, schools, businesses, artists and individuals to help shape this year’s Black History Month celebrations.
This year’s theme is “Honouring Our Communities” - recognising the people whose everyday leadership, care, creativity, service and commitment help shape and strengthen our communities.
In North Somerset, we want to bring that theme to life by celebrating the Black people, businesses, entrepreneurs, artists and community leaders who contribute to our communities, including those whose work may not always receive the recognition it deserves.
Black History Month Planning Meeting - Online
Wednesday 9 September, 1pm–3pm
Come along to share your ideas, tell us what you or your organisation are planning, and help us create a programme that truly reflects the richness and contribution of Black communities across North Somerset.
