I've pushed the start of TestDuro back a bit this Spring. Partly the extremely wet start to the year, partly busy at work and weekends. Should all be drying out nicely with the current lovely weather; I just need to find a day to do a final recce. Stinking cold this week isn't helping, but it is on the way.

Did the George Skeates charity race round Stockbridge today. It was terrific. Recommended for anyone who likes the TestDuro, I reckon.

As indicated, it's a loop from Romsey, past Totton, into The Forest, and over Pepperbox Hill.
Bone dry trails right now - won't last. Does that mean get it done before the rains come, or it's not a proper challenge until it's muddy? Well, you've got until New Year so you can always do it twice!

Got a few bits to check out, and need to decide on the Strava segments, but I think the autumn TestDuro route is nearly ready. Probably going to be a loop from Romsey out through the east edge of The Forest.

Just looking at my Strava subscription and thinking I'm not getting much for £55/year. I'm finding it quite hard to work out exactly what features are subscriber only, despite looking at the list on the Strava website. The things I use that I think might be affected:
Searching my own activities.
Searching the map for segments (to use for TestDuro)
Creating segments (for TestDuro).
Filtering a segment by Week or Month to find TestDuro participants.
I think it's just this last one that's an issue, but can anyone confirm?
I guess I could work round this by asking people to send me the link to their TestDuro activity after they've done it. Any thoughts?

TestDuro 2025 - all done!

Brilliant weather this Spring. Loads of folk out making the most of it. My list is Steve Squibbs, Tom C, Jonathan S, Mark Gilmour, Angus Buchanan, Darren Kearley, Neil Barber, Charles Carr, Lee Barber, Darren Strickland, El Cochino, Jez Hart, Jay Tee, Phill Grant, Sophie Woolley, Ashley Hollick, Will Weynberg, Barry Lynham, Richard Parker, Western King, kev Duffell, Rachel Clay, Cazza Duffell, Simon Palmer, Gordon M, Duncan E, Malcolm Baker, Tom Keene, Rod Harnett, Martin Ratcliffe, Andy Moores, Tom Fisher, Jake Dugdale, James Allen, Pale,Male Stale, Robert Carter, Andrew Wright, Nick Davies, Andy Ryan, Graham Sanson, James OneCog, Jorge Manso, Phil Lovegrove, Nich Bull, Pete B. Let me know if I've missed anyone.
I reckon Jake was quickest over the Strava segments. Buy yourself a beer, Jake! Best effort probably goes to Neil Barber who did most of it with his leg hanging off after a dog ate him.
List of everyone's times is here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1urYL6G96Z8JoFF-e8TvST1Rdq_cRf2AL19F6sGHVCBg/edit?usp=sharing if you're interested.
Next one starts early October or thereabouts. Probably out to the Forest somewhere. Probably less bumpy and more dirty.

TestDuro2025: Go, go go!
Right folks, here it is. More Itchen than Testin'.
Just breaking the 100 km mark but going all the way out to Alton. You've got until the end of the Spring bank holiday on 26th May.
6 Strava segments for the competitive amongst you. Some fabulous riding, beautiful holloways, and stunning views for the rest of us.
Right now, the bridleways and byways are about as good as they ever get - mostly dry, not too hard, no nettles!
All the details are here https://drive.google.com/file/d/12Z-u_NS4vMxfpgFDv5JJKi-YvsWt2vnD/view?usp=sharing
Enjoy!

Just putting the finishing touches to TestDuro2025. It's going to be about 100 km, venturing in a new direction, the usual mix of bridleways, byways, back lanes, and 'fun' bits. I think we'll be good to go for next weekend.
