Last on our guest list who will be joining us in the cookery demonstration theatre this year is,

Martha Collison

Martha is the youngest ever Baker on 'The Great British Bake Off' where she made it all the way to the quarter finals in 2014 while also studying for her AS Levels.

Martha is a self-taught baker who started cooking at the age of eight – the result of her brave parents letting her loose in the kitchen and enjoying the (sometimes mixed) results! With her A-levels behind her now, she has plenty of time to dedicate to her writing and testing recipes for various purposes, including a weekly column in Waitrose Weekend paper and for her own food blog.

Martha has a fun and relaxed approach to baking. She loves interesting and unusual flavour combinations and takes huge pleasure in both creating and eating delicious food. Her first book, TWIST, was published by HarperCollins in 2016 followed by CRAVE published in July 2017, again by HarperCollins.

She loves spending time with her family, has recently got married, and is passionate about helping with charitable campaigns including with Tearfund.

Good morning everyone,
Just to let you know we have a nice lineup of entertainment planned for the Food Festival to coincide with the cookery demonstration theatre and the wide variety of food traders who will be attending.
Firstly World Jungle will be back with us this year and will be providing a whole host of fun activities for the children throughout the weekend.
We also have a full lineup of music planned in the feastival garden where you will be able to sit, relax, listen and enjoy. A couple of artists joining us this weekend will be Tazmin Barnes Music and Poppy WS amongst other performers.

In case you were not aware we are also a very dog friendly event if you choose to bring your companions along with you. They will be allowed in all areas this year apart from the cookery demonstration theatre.

Also joining us this year at the food festival,

Yvette Farrell – Principal - Harts Barn Cookery School

Harts Barn Cookery School is based in the beautiful Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire, built to showcase its historic and picturesque surroundings. At it's heart - a magnificent Norman Hunting Lodge, one of the oldest properties in the area built by WilliamDuke of Normandy in 1068. The historic farm site has a 17th century working cider mill and press, and its heritage pear and apple Orchards today make traditional cider, perry and beautiful juices.

Yvette herself was born on a country estate and grew up gathering blackberries, nuts and wild garlic. Community too featured heavily from childhood, for instance, when in Scotland, Yvette exchanged eggs with thetrawlers for fresh fish! From those years a passion for the land and its harvest developed, leading to 16 years working in Horticulture gaining extensive plant knowledge and associations with food.

From opening an award winning Organic Farm shop with Cafe and Deli, Yvette now runs Harts Barn with a strong ethos of offering "Cooking for All," including giving care and tuition to those with special needs.
