What was happening in 18th century Scotland?
A time defined by the 1707 Act of Union, the Scottish Enlightenment, the Jacobite risings, the start of industrialisation, the Highland Clearances and lots more.
Come and learn all about it from Alan Breck's Volunteer Regiment who will tell you about a time in Scotland when Scots were prepared to fight for either side, without prejudice or politics, according to the needs of the occasion.

The English Civil Wars were part of a wider conflict that also involved Wales, Scotland and Ireland, and known as the Wars of the Three Kingdoms. English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish soldiers fought in all the conflicts.
