A FREE two day annual street party in Islington featuring some of LDN's best street art! The annual Whitecross Street Party is one of London’s unique outdoor events, with a creative mix of street arts, performances and community interaction, that take over the area for one day. This celebrated family-friendly street party provides a platform for over 40 artists painting live for THE RISE OF THE NO
NCONFORMIST outdoor exhibition. Alongside the day is packed with live music, dance, family activities and a good dash of the unexpected. The Whitecross Street Party and its exceptional outdoor street art exhibition ‘The Rise of the Nonconformists’ started back in 2010 when a small team of disorganisers took inspiration from the local dissenter’s graveyard. This hallowed ground where prominent nonconformists William Blake, Daniel Defoe, John Bunyan and Susannah Wesley’s spirit were laid to rest provided the inspiration for the event to celebrate, creative difference, artistic ingenuity, invention and innovation. In its twelfth year, this lively street art party and year round exhibition will be hosted by local charity, YMCA London City and North working in partnership with the London Borough of Islington. Whitecross Street Party kicks off from 12:00 – 6:00pm on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th July with fun found all along Whitecross Street (EC1). The Whitecross Street Party is a brilliant, family-friendly event for both the avid art lover and those that like something a bit different.
