Somerstock has been run entirely by volunteers, both from and for our community, since 1988! 🤯
Every year, a small team of locals gives up their time, not just in the run-up to the festival, but throughout the whole year to plan, organise and pull together a brilliant event for our community.
So today, we want to say a big thank you to the brilliant team pictured below who make it all happen...

📋 Cliff (Fred) Bassett – Chairman. Looks after the staging, bands, sound, licensing, layout, bar, and pretty much everything else. Retired, but still part of the Royal Navy Reserve.
📱 Emma Burton – Organises the town events and runs the social media for Somerton Music and Arts Festival, and helps co-ordinate the stewards at Somerstock. Works in marketing at Forever England.
🎸 Jon Sackett – heads the marketing and publicity team. Recently retired from Leonardo Helicopters and plays in two bands!
🎈 Mary Palmer – Organises children’s entertainment, keeps things fun for families and looks after all the Somerstock merch.
🖼️ Alex Stannett – Manages the arts exhibition and leads the team of stewards st Somerstock. Works as a children’s community nurse.
🏗️ Jason Burton-Tuttiett – Site manager, making sure everything’s safe and running to plan.
🚰 Andrea Shore – Handles advertising and sponsorship. Works at On Tap Water Treatment, who also supply all the water pipes and taps for the site.
💰 Martyn Smith – Treasurer. Retired brewer and Chair of Trustees at Somerton Parish Rooms.
🖥️ Lonsdale Leggett-Flynn – Runs the social media for Somerstock, and designs our programmes, posters and websites through Boomerang Design.
📣 Emily Gordon – Also on the publicity team, creating live content during Somerstock through Simply Made Marketing.
💰 Justin Evans - secures grant funding to help us keep Somersock running
🍔 Stuart Avison - manages the vendors who keep us fed and watered at Somerstock
Jane Fell - organises the Live Music Weekender in the Somerton pubs
🎪 Brian Dobson - manages the traders at Somerstock
It takes a lot of teamwork to make Somerstock happen and our volunteers are proud to keep growing and improving the festival, year after year.
