Sheringham Little Theatre Casting Call out!

SLT are looking for 4 local young actors to be in a new premiere production of The Turn of the Screw at Wolterton Hall. This production has been written especially for them by acclaimed playwright Mike Poulton (Royal Shakespeare Company, Edinburgh Lyceum Theatre, Chichester Festival Theatre) ✨

The young performers will be working with a professional cast and director.
The roles the theatre are looking for are Miles and Flora. These are key parts within the story:

Miles: looks 10 years old, must be able to sing, strong actor
Flora: looks 8 years old, strong actor

SLT will be holding auditions on Saturday 11th April from 10AM - 1PM at Sheringham Little Theatre. They ask that everyone auditioning is 9 years old and above 🎟
At the auditions, the young people will be given an extract to read (one that they will have had time to prepare) and they will be asked to sing a song of their choice (between 1 minute and a half to 2 minutes long)

Everyone auditioning needs to be comfortable with seeing, and potentially wearing, masks (as they may be included within the production).
This will be a wonderful experience for young performers in the area. Thank you to the theatre for proving these creative opportunities for our young people and bringing forward and showcasing new work.

We can’t wait to see the talent that is around 🎭

It has been an exciting week for Creative Sheringham as we took part in a workshop with Daniel Brine CEO of the Norfolk and Norwich Festival.

We focussed on deciding what direction we should take the festival in and how we canake it sustainable.

Lots of exciting ideas came out of it and we hope lots of our partners and anyone interested will come along on Monday 8th December at 6pm to our meeting to take this further forward. Email [email protected] if you want to be involved. Tel 07905292897 Liz
