Starting to feel stronger - thanks to a lot of very early morning turbo sessions. Thanks to Zoe Burton for keeping my company on the weekend rides (and waiting for me on the hills!) and for keeping me on track with training.
I had a week off the bike while skiing in the beautiful Dolomites last week (so morning runs and evening core sessions instead!) but now I am back in the saddle!
Every day at work reminds me why the Aticus Network is so important and what a difference it will make to the lives of children and young people having stem cell transplants across the UK - any support you can give would be hugely appreciated x

Fab day out at the Cambridge Classic Sportive. Thanks to the amazing team at Stolen Goat for providing me with the complimentary entry and kit for training.
127km, longest ride this year so far but lots more long ones to come!
Itโ€™s only 20 weeks until I am riding all 9 stages of the Tour de France Femmes to raise money for Cure Leukaemia and their incredible work bringing research studies to children having stem cell transplants - all support very gratefully received. https://www.justgiving.com/page/katharine-patrick-1

Wintery weather has meant training over the last month has mostly been on the turbo and in the gym due to the snow, ice and pouring rain but yesterday Zoe Burton and I enjoyed a return to cycling outdoors. Highlight of the ride - warming our freezing hand by the fire at the Grasshopper Cafe in Hope.

Thanks to Michelle for for keeping me on track with training - I keep reminding myself these 6am turbo sessions will be worth it when I reach France next summer!

Itโ€™s 26 weeks until I ride every stage of the Tour de France Femmes to raise money for Cure Leukaemia and help fund vital clinical trials for children with Blood Cancer.
Please support me if you can https://www.justgiving.com/page/katharine-patrick-1

Exploring the misty murky Peak District with Zoe yesterday. The training must be paying off as Longstone Edge didnโ€™t seem quite as steep as before!
Warmed up with coffee and scones at the Village Green, Eyam, our favourite local cafe, which has just had a beautiful new makeover. ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธโ˜•๏ธ๐ŸŽ„

Amazing Day at 'Do It For You' on Sunday. Together with patients and families from Sheffield Children's Haematology/Oncology Department, we managed to cycle 395km and many youngsters had their first experience of riding through a volcano on Zwift! We even got Theo Bear on a bike!
Thanks for everyone who took part in the cycling or sweep stake and for all the very generous donations to Cure Leukaemia

Next Summer I am taking on the huge challenge of cycling all 9 stages of the Tour de France Femmes with an amazing group of women, to raise money for Cure Leukaemia and their quest to fund the Aticus Network, a pioneering project to bring clinical trials and new treatments to children having stem cell transplants.
The route is 1175km and climbs 18795m, including an ascent of the famous Mount Ventoux. The challenge is both exciting and terrifying and I am already training hard.
Any support you can give will genuinely help save lives.

Katharine has signed up for The Route 2026, combining her passion for cycling with her dedication to helping children โค๏ธ

โ€œAs a Consultant Paediatric Haematologist at Sheffield Children's Hospital NHS and Charity, I treat children with leukaemia and those undergoing stem cell transplants. The ATICUS Network is a pioneering project to bring research studies straight to children undergoing stem cell transplants and ensure that every child having a transplant in the UK has access to the latest advances in medical care. I know this will make transplants safer and more effective and will save the lives of children who have no other chance of long-term survival."
