What a weekend. What a city. What a celebration. 🧧🐴✨

From our Light Switch On at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, to the spectacular show at the Octagon Centre, and finally an unforgettable weekend in the Peace Gardens, Sheffield Lunar Chinese New Year 2026 has been an incredible celebration, organised by Sheffield people, for Sheffield people, and enjoyed by audiences from across the region and beyond.
Huge thanks to our key supporters Sheffield City Council and Sheffield BID, without you, there is no festival. We’re also deeply grateful to all our sponsors, especially our title sponsor Chery you truly helped us “Go Find Happy”!

To our 187 performers, including international troupes who travelled very far to be here, thank you for bringing world-class talent and vibrant cultural energy to the city.

And to our amazing volunteers and event staff, over 100 people giving their time and heart, this festival simply wouldn’t happen without you.

Finally, thank YOU to everyone who came, supported, liked and cheered.This festival is about cultural sharing and together, we’ve shown that cultural sharing makes Sheffield stronger, more united and more resilient.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined our Lunar Chinese New Year 2026 celebrations, delivered in partnership with and the at The University of Sheffield, proudly supporting Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity ❤️

From lantern making and Chinese calligraphy workshops to a breathtaking performance from the world-famous Foshan Lion Dance Troupe, it’s been a week bursting with culture, colour and community spirit.

And the celebrations continue in the city centre! 🎉

On Monday, we were proud to officially begin the festival with the Light Switch On at Sheffield Children’s Hospital ❤️

Then on Wednesday, audiences were treated to an unforgettable evening at The Octagon Centre for our spectacular Lunar New Year show 🎭✨
