Our next Peace Talk speaker is Lianne Kirkman- the Founder and Director of The Esther Project.
In 2015, she established the King’s Award-winning Helping Hands Community Project as a
registered charity, leading its impactful work for a decade.
Recognising that domestic abuse is the leading cause of female homelessness-and noting a critical gap in gender-specific services- Lianne launched The Esther Project as a separate entity to provide a dedicated lifeline for women.
Today, The Esther Project operates Esther House, a safe, 7- bedroom women-only residence, with more gender-specific accommodation opening soon!
The Esther Project launched Warwickshire’s first women-only hub and shop space in December 2025 in Leamington Spa, with plans to expand women-only hubs into other areas of the county. The project delivers essential weekly support, including professional counselling, therapeutic workshops, and tailored employability pathways.
Looking forward, Lianne is driving visionary plans to develop a rural farm property designed specifically for women with complex trauma needs, offering them true hope, a secure future, and the opportunity to live independent lives.
Lianne will be speaking on the Bandstand stage at 12:45 on Saturday 13th June.
