Today’s Tuneage Tuesday is Don’t Count Yourself Out by Tank and the Bangas featuring Dawn Richard, from their new album The Last Balloon.

Produced by Michäel Brun and Brian London and written with Tarriona Ball, Norman Spence II, Austin Brown and Dawn Richard. I’m loving this new album so it was difficult to choose just one, but I like the funky, soulful, chilled house vibes that this song brings. I also like the encouraging messages in the lyrics.

Happy belated birthday to my wife, my partner in rhyme, my heart completer, my scene partner, my Cookie who I love from top to tip and will hold with a spider monkey grip and never let go, even when she tells me so!

You are one of the most hardworking (like literally she planned and executed an entertainment filled dinner party for her birthday and is now onto a 4 gig weekend, not to mention everything else!), wonderful, talented, inspirational and amazing human beings I’ve ever had the blessing of being near, let alone with. Thank you for being you and doing life with this guy. Here’s to many more 🥂❤️💃🏾🕺🏿

Written and produced by André “3000” Benjamin. This is a timeless jam, giving some psychedelic, Jimi Hendrix vibes. It still hits today, I may even learn this one for a chilled set
