June is shaping up to be a busy and exciting month at Pontardawe Golf Club ⛳️

With competitions, team matches, social events, charity days and plenty of great golf, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

The highlight of the month is Captains Week – 21st to 27th June. We will post the full schedule soon.

Make sure those dates are firmly in your diary and let’s get behind our Captain - Mr Mike Grinter, support each other, have plenty of fun and raise as much money as possible for charity, and of course, lets make sure the bar and the kitchen are paid a visit on the odd occasion, or twelve, we never judge 😜

This July 18th, we come together once again to honour the memory of our incredible friend Kristian Slee 💚 What better way to celebrate his life than a day packed full of football, music, food, beer and fun!

After so many messages asking… we can finally say it loud and clear…

The Kristian Slee Memorial Event is ON for 2026! ❤️💚

📍 Pontardawe Rugby Club

We know we’re a bit later than usual announcing it this year—but there was never any doubt. This day means too much to too many people. 💯

Every year, this event brings the community together to remember Kristian, celebrate his life, and raise money for an incredible cause. The support just keeps growing, and we honestly can’t wait to do it all again.

🌟 Kristian Slee Memorial Event 2025 – What a Day! 🌟

We are so proud to announce that this year’s event raised an incredible £7,500 which will be split between Ty Olwen and funding a second community bench in memory of Kristian 🧡

That brings our total raised over the last 5 years to £34,504 – an achievement only made possible thanks to the amazing support of our local community.

💥 Highlights of the day included:
⚽ Our biggest-ever 5-a-side football tournament with 16 teams battling it out for the Kristian Slee Memorial title
🎁 A fantastic raffle & auction with prizes kindly donated by local businesses and individuals
🏁 Impressive sponsored feather flags proudly on display throughout the day
🎶 Outstanding music from Dan Docherty Young DJs Club, Nathan Jones Music , The Shuffle & Woolfey

We were blessed with glorious sunshine ☀️ at Pontardawe Rugby Club, which brought the crowds out in force to celebrate, remember, and raise money together.

🙏 A huge thank you to everyone who donated, played, sponsored, volunteered, or came along to support – you make this event what it is.

We already can’t wait for next year, and we promise it’ll be even bigger & better! 💪

🏆✅ TOURNAMENT DONE! ✅🏆

What an absolutely fantastic day! ☀️ The sun was shining, the vibes were unreal, and the football was top tier (well… for some teams 😅).

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who came down, played, supported, and made the day what it was. The Kristian Slee Memorial means so much to so many, and seeing the community come together like this is always special. ❤️

👏 Congratulations to our 2025 champions – Fruit Pascals!
First time entering and they’ve only gone and won it! Beating 15 other teams and walking away as the Champions of Kristian Slee 5-A-Side 2025 – what a debut!

😂 Special shoutout to Dicky’s Donuts, the true entertainers of the day. Once again finishing with zero points, proudly taking home the wooden spoons. Hats, uniforms, even a paddling pool – elite commitment to the cause!

💚 Kristian Slee Memorial Bench Unveiling 💚

We were honoured to be joined by Kristian’s family and friends for the unveiling of a beautiful bench in his memory.

A massive thank you to Bleddyn Howells for his incredible effort in organising everything and helping make this tribute possible.

🪑 The bench now sits proudly at the bottom of Grove Road, right by the entrance to Ponty Canal — a peaceful place to remember a truly special person.

We’re immensely proud and grateful to everyone who supported and donated at last year’s tournament. Your generosity made this moment possible.

And the journey doesn’t stop here — we already have a spot reserved to do the same again following this year’s event. Please continue to support this fantastic event so we can keep honouring Kristian’s memory in the way he deserves.
