What Inspired Me to Start My Business?
Iâve always believed that life is a collection of stories â some big, some small, but all significant. And if thereâs one thing Iâve learned along the way, itâs that the stories we create are often the spark for something bigger.
For me, the story that lit the fire to start my business began with a series of unexpected moments, one of them being me thinking I know what's best for my husbandâs new career path.
It wasnât a moment of clarity, but a tug at my heart â a whisper that said, "What if?" What if I could help people celebrate love the way they truly want to? What if I could make people feel seen and heard during one of the most sacred moments of their lives? The more I thought about it, the more I realized that this was what I was meant to do. The tug was not for my husband but realising this is for me.. Not him.
A few years ago, I was feeling a little lost. I had an itch to do something meaningful, something that would allow me to be me fully present, while helping others embrace who they are, too. Iâve always loved the raw energy of weddings, but the traditional, cookie-cutter ceremonies never felt like a true reflection of the couples I love to work with or a reflection of me. I also had a rebellious untraditional wedding during a buddhist retreat. I wanted to create a space where love wasnât bound by rules or expectations â where it was messy, wild, and uniquely theirs.
Where they could create and enjoy the memories of their day just as I had done more than 40 years ago.
And so, I decided to become an elopement celebrant. Not just any celebrant, but one who could craft ceremonies that felt like you â deeply personal, fiercely authentic, and full of joy. I wanted to guide couples to find the beauty in their own stories, not just the wedding Pinterest boards.
It wasnât easy. There were doubts, obstacles, and moments when I wondered if I was crazy for wanting to do things differently.
I saw plenty of wedding celebrants following the traditional wedding path and many couples just weren't being represented in the mainstream narrative. But it just wasn't authentic for me to become another cookie-cutter celebrant. But those challenges only fueled my passion.
Every time a couple told me that their ceremony was exactly what they dreamed of, or that it felt like a true reflection of their love, I knew I was on the right path.
So, thatâs why I do what I do. Itâs about creating a space where love can be expressed in all its forms, no matter what society might say. Itâs about helping others build their own narrative â one thatâs as bold and unique as they are.
Starting my business wasnât just a career choice; it was a calling to trust my intuition and follow my heart. And itâs the best decision I ever made.
