✍📣NEW Co-Write Session📣✍

Join us in person at The Writers' Block for a series of gentle and engaging co-writing sessions!

We're very excited to launch a new monthly series of in person writing sessions at The Writers' Block over the summer. Whether you're keen to get some words on the page, looking for a space to write or just need the discipline of turning up to write, each session will provide you with time and space to work on your writing in the company of others.

The sessions will last approximately 1.5 hours with an opportunity for a check in at the beginning and then time at the end to have a little catch up (should you wish).

Led by Lucy Beckley, our Creative Lead for Communities and Emerging Writers', each session will provide a warm and welcoming space for you to meet other writers and then spend dedicated time on your writing.

These sessions are free, but donations are warmly welcomed.

📅 Thursday 25 June 2026
🕖 7pm – 9:30pm

Together, these writers reflect on what it means to be seen and unseen, welcomed and dismissed, central and peripheral - and the freedoms that can come with age, experience, and refusing to stay quiet.

We hope you’ll join us for an inspiring evening of conversation, connection, and powerful storytelling.

We've received lots of amazing reviews from readers of salt & stone including this succinct snippet from the team team...

'.... To read this collection of stories is to feel sea-salt on your skin, breathe in the cold night air, inhale the smell of kelp and to be nowhere else other than in Cornwall...'

Come and feel the swelling emotions summoned to the page by our amazing authors on Wednesday 8th July in at 13:00.

How delightful to see my very own words sitting on a bookshelf at Shrew Books in the Salt & Stone anthology Hermitage Press - out now in the wild! 🥹❤️

Even more delightful was the company of fellow freelancer Sophie Reid Creative for the afternoon as we chatted all things books, writing, and the shared agony of a toppling TBR pile 📚

Join us at Penzance Litfest on Wednesday July 8th at 13:00 where I'll be talking with co-authors Emily Ould, Helen Trevaskis, Jakki Magowan and Chloe Statham Watkins about being a Cornish writer, and their inspiration behind their amazing stories in the recently published salt & stone.

This gorgeous paperback by was the result of an open call of writing which sought to capture the raw essence of Cornwall – its weathered coastlines, tight-knit communities, quiet (and not-so-quiet) storms and enduring beauty.

Not only will be talking about the success of the book and how it has captured peoples hearts, we'll also be talking about the authors expectations of working with a small publisher, as opposed to self-publishing or chasing one of the Big Five.

Tickets are on sale now...
