Thank you for your patience but we hope these photos have been worth the wait! 🐔✨

Our EYFS children did a fantastic job performing Chicken Licken, showing off their confidence, speaking skills and brilliant storytelling. There were lots of proud smiles, wonderful character voices and some very impressive acting from our youngest performers! 🎭🌟

We are so proud of every child who took part. What a lovely performance to share! 💛

Pebbles, paths and plenty of teamwork at Mrs Stone's Gardening Club! 🌱🪨💪

The children got stuck in moving pebbles ready for another of our garden paths. It was brilliant to see everyone working together, helping each other and making a real difference to our outdoor learning space! 🌿✨

Needles, thread and plenty of concentration in 5/6DS! 🧵✂️✨

The children have been practising their sewing skills in DT, showing patience, precision and creativity as they worked! 👏

Who knows… we might have some future Great British Sewing Bee contestants in the making! 🐝🌟

Big ideas for a greener future were proudly shared by Year 4! 🌍🌱✨

The children presented their sustainability projects to the rest of the year group and some very special guests — Miss Wilson, our ECO Lead, and children from Year 1! 👏

Each group explained how they would make Quay Academy more sustainable and where they would place different types of renewable energy, including wind turbines, solar panels, biomass and hydropower! 💨☀️🌿💧

Their models were fantastic and their presenting skills were just as impressive! Well done Year 4! 🌟

Fruit tasting was on the menu for Year 4! 🍓🍊🍍

The children enjoyed a healthy eating session with Mr Dennett, learning all about why fruit is an important part of a balanced diet! 🍎💪

Of course, the best part was getting to taste a variety of different fruits! A huge well done to the children who were brave enough to try something new — and even better, some of them discovered they actually liked it! 😄👏

Science turned colourful as Year 3 rounded off their plants topic! 🌸🔬🌈

The children carried out a water transportation experiment to see how water moves through a plant. They learnt that plants have xylem tubes inside the stem, which carry water and nutrients from the soil and roots up to the flower! 🌱💧

The best part was observing it in action as the coloured water travelled through the stems and changed the colour of the petals! 👀🌺

A brilliant hands-on way to finish the topic! ✨

A morning full of confidence, positivity and self-belief for Year 3! 🌟💭

The children learnt all about having a positive mindset with Mr Dennett and explored how positive thinking can help us feel better, keep trying and even succeed at things we never thought we could do! 💪✨

They also created their own confidence maps, choosing words and pictures to show what they like about themselves. What a lovely way to celebrate individuality and build confidence! 🖍️😊

There was a lot of energy in Year 4 for this lesson — nuclear energy, to be exact! ⚡🧪

The children took part in a 'Nuclear Power Relay' to help them understand how nuclear energy is made. They followed each step of the process, from fuel rods heating up and being cooled with water, to spinning a turbine, making electricity and safely disposing of nuclear waste!🔥💧⚙️

It was a brilliant way to bring science to life, with lots of teamwork, movement and fantastic discussion along the way! 🌟
