‼️ Important Mini Rock Stars Update ‼️

Hi Rockstars 👋

I hope you’ve all had a lovely winter. As we look ahead to the spring and summer season, I wanted to share an important update about how Mini Rock Stars will be running moving forward. It’s a bit of a long post, but important, so please do read all the way down ⬇️

This hasn’t been an easy decision, and it’s one I’ve spent a long time thinking through. Over time, Mini Rock Stars has grown and changed in ways I’m incredibly proud of , but as I look ahead, I’ve realised it’s time to return to my roots and professional background in outdoor climbing, rope systems and technical instruction.

Alongside personal commitments, other work responsibilities, and the ongoing pressures of running a small independent business, this has led me to make the difficult decision to step away from open classes and open group delivery.

Mini Rock Stars isn’t disappearing, but it is evolving.

🌱 What Mini Rock Stars is becoming
From Spring 2026, sessions will focus on:

• Private sessions and pre-organised group bookings only
• Under-18 sessions delivered as private or pre-organised groups, with all parents or guardians present
• All-ages outdoor climbing, with a focus on technical rope work, safe systems of work, and building the knowledge and competence needed for real outdoor climbing

This reflects a move away from open, child led activity sessions and back towards skills-based, technical outdoor instruction.

As part of this shift, Mini Rock Stars will gradually be evolving into
“Rock Stars Outdoor Climbing School” a name that better reflects the direction of travel and the work I’ll be focusing on moving forward.

🧗 New & expanded outdoor sessions
I’m really excited to be offering more:
• Indoor-to-outdoor climbing transition sessions
• Rope work and hardware setup skills
• Single-pitch rescue awareness workshops

These sessions are suitable for families, teens and adults, and are delivered as private or pre-organised group bookings.

Please note that I no longer have full-time availability due to other work commitments, so spaces are more limited than in previous years.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported Mini Rock Stars so far. This change has been genuinely hard to make, but it feels like the right step, allowing me to continue offering high quality, skills led climbing experiences while staying true to the professional roots that started it all 💚

⭐️Fully Booked⭐️

Hey Rockstars! I’m sorry to have to tell you that I’m closing the diary for 2025. I’m at full capacity for what I can take on this year- but I’ll keep you updated on anything that changes and you are welcome to enquire for a waiting list.

I’ve a busy June and July ahead, and have decided to limit August’s sessions compared to normal as my youngest is due to start School in September (which has come around so quickly!) and I’d like to spend some more time with him before this next big step in his life. I hope you all understand 😊
Autumn sessions are now also at capacity for the time being.

A huge thanks to all my parents and children who turn out every time with such enthusiasm for the rocks- you actually rock! 🤘

Happy International Women’s Day to all my climbing gals!!

It’s an honour to coach some amazing rockstar girls who absolutely smash it everytime. 2024 saw the introduction of my Women’s adventure weekends, which gave me so much joy to see women coming together in the outdoors to support each other and learn new skills and just ‘be their own self’. More of that to come this year, watch this space!!

Also a huge shoutout to some very inspirational ladies who I’ve met a long the way in my climbing journey.. I would not be where I am with your guidance, friendship and ongoing professional relationships.

In an industry that’s predominantly still very male dominated, I’ve had moments where I’ve nearly threw in the towel of pursuing a professional career in the outdoors. Feeling not strong enough, not quick enough, not good enough, not able to balance the travel and intensive pace that my work entails with also being a mother, a wife, running a start up business from scratch whilst also running a family business with my husband and being a Coastguard Rescue Officer too which is an important role in my life.

BUT… I did it, I’m still doing it, one day at a time and you can too.

We can do anything, keep climbing Rockstars ⭐️

🎁🎄 Hey Rockstars! 🎄🎁

Who’s excited for Christmas..?! 2 more sleeps!

It’s been very quiet on social media this year for mini rock stars, so I just wanted to check in and let you all know that it’s only because I’ve been so busy meeting and working with so many amazing children and their families, meeting inspiring women and parents and coaching Adults in some of their first climbing adventures!

This year has seen so much growth and development for the path I want to take rock stars down, we’ve had summer open sessions for multiple age groups, ran our first very successful women’s adventure weekends, supported several local schools with team bonding climbings sessions, intro to outdoor climbing courses, I’ve watched children who started coming to me at barely two years of age flourish in confidence and climb better than I could have ever imagined. The smiles when they achieve to their own level is why I do what I do in all weathers, wind, rain or shine!

I’ll be sharing some of the adventures from 2024 in January so you can see for yourself what we’ve been up to. You can also expect some exciting changes for 2025 including more open sessions and regular parent and toddler sessions across my various outdoor venues.
I’m working towards the planning of holiday clubs- climbing school for Easter, half terms, Summer and October holidays so watch this space for further information on ALL of this around February. There’s a lot of paperwork goes on behind the scenes of Mini Rock Stars so I spend my winter in the office making all of this happen.

Last but by no means least, a huge THANK YOU to all the children who I’ve seen this year, but most of all to the parents for bringing them along and believing in my vision and passion for getting our children outdoors and building on those movement skills whilst having fun!!

See you all in 2025, and don’t hesitate to drop me an email if you’ve questions or interested in booking a session. (I am filling up for larger educational/school and nursery group bookings so advance booking for these are essential)

Step outside with me and explore what our beautiful corner of the countryside has to offer in true adventurer style…

Are you a woman who loves being outside but perhaps doesn’t have the confidence/experience/companionship to head out to the hills, moors and climbing crags by yourself? If this sounds like you, then this weekend skills experience could be just the right thing for you.

A weekend of adventure, learning, fun, social, good food and beautiful landscapes in North Yorkshire.

🗓️When? 14th and 15th of September 2024

📍Where? We will meet at Claybank Carpark on Saturday morning, and be based in and around this area. We can arrange car shares for travelling to the campsite in the evening if needed.

What’s included?

🧭2 full days of tuition with 2 qualified and experienced female coaches in climbing, abseiling, walking, map reading and navigation skills, overnight camp in a local friendly campsite with all kit provided, 3 course campfire evening meal and cooked breakfast.

Day 1 will include a walk in to a beautiful crag based near Thirsk, a full day of climbing and abseiling where we will look at the basics of knots, how to tie in and learning how to safely belay your partner. This is a brilliant experience for anyone just starting out in the climbing world, or if you have absolutely no experience at all. We provide all safety equipment for you. You can do as much, or as little as you feel you can push yourself to.

We will then descend back to transport and head the nearby campsite for the night. Showers and toilets are on-site, we will provide tents, roll mats and sleeping bags for you so no need to worry about where to find these things! Following setting up our camp, we will then cook together a 3 course meal on the fire and pizza oven (dietries can be catered for, please specify any requirements on booking) and a cooked breakfast will be provided for you in the morning.

Day 2 will commence of route planning together taking into consideration weather conditions, geographical location and environment. We will look at map reading, use of compass and what we might need with us before packing up and heading out on our walk for the day.

What do you need to bring?
Yourself! Obviously… some sturdy walking shoes or boots would be a great idea, you will need to provide your own lunch and snacks over the two days and water (we can top this up at the campsite) a back pack, spare layers and weather appropriate clothing. That’s it, we provide the rest!!

This course has space for 6 ladies, with 2 female instructors with you for the whole 2 days and 1 night. Cost is £295pp

⭐️Woohoo it’s Paraclimbing week again!⭐️

I’m away this next week for work in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 based in my homeland in the Highlands.

Due to the time and nature of the work I will be unavailable via emails or messenger until next week. Any enquiries Rockstars I’ll respond as soon as I can when I get home.

⭐️please note that all my children’s open sessions and private sessions are FULLY BOOKED now until October.

⭐️The last remaining Women’s Adventure course places will be advertised later in the week.

⭐️Remaining October availability including half term will be released late August.
