Lochnell 2011s Impress at Giffnock Festival 🟡🔵⚽️

Lochnell 2011s produced a series of outstanding performances at the Giffnock Festival against strong Division 1 opposition.

Despite three narrow 1-0 defeats in the group stage, the boys competed brilliantly and were unlucky not to take more from their games. In the Plate semi-final, Lochnell drew 1-1 with Bonnyton Thistle before narrowly losing 3-1 on penalties.

The day ended on a high as the boys secured 3rd place in the Plate competition, defeating Barrhead in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw.

Every player gave everything throughout the tournament and represented the club superbly. The performances showed just how far this group has come, and there is plenty to be excited about heading into next season.

Musician Nick Morgan visited Lochnell Primary School on Friday as part of his “No Scotland No Party” tour. James from our 2014 squad was on hand to present Nick with a Lochnell FC coach’s top on behalf of the club. The kids had a brilliant time being entertained by Nick and we wish him all the best as he continues his tour, building the excitement ahead Scotland men’s team making their return to the World Cup on 14th June. 😊 We can’t wait!

Lochnell 2011 continued their strong form in the U15 AIYFA league with an impressive 4–1 away win over Red Star.

It was another excellent team performance full of hard work, determination and quality football throughout the match.

James opened the scoring with a well-taken finish ⚽️ before Carter confidently converted from the penalty spot ⚽️. Dylan then added a superb double ⚽️⚽️ to seal another excellent victory for the team.

Every player played their part in a brilliant all-round display.

Man of the Match: DJ – outstanding from start to finish.

Our 2019s, 2018s and 2017s looked the part at the recent Oban Football Festival with new tops generously funded by Ardchattan Community Council.

The troops enjoyed wearing the new kit, modelled below by Blaine and Antoni.

A brilliant weekend of football for our squads at the Oban Football Festival 😊. Lots of good football was on display from our guys. A massive thank you to all coaches and helpers from Oban Saints for putting on such an excellent event 👏.

Well done to all our players and coaches for their hard efforts, and to our parents, grandparents and assorted family members for their support.

Our intrepid 2014/15/16 squad were on the road today with a trip down to Campbeltown in the Argyll & the Islands Youth Football Association - AIYFA Under 12 League. It was a tightly contested affair and although the result didn’t go our way the lads gave everything for the cause as always. A big thank you and well done to the players, coaches and parents who made the trip and further thanks to our friends at Campbeltown Football for hosting.

Another great experience for the squad!

Lochnell 2011 continued their impressive start to the U15 AIYFA league season with a hard-fought 3–1 victory over Oban Saints, extending their unbeaten run and strengthening their lead at the top of the table.

It was a competitive match with great fighting spirit shown by both teams throughout. Lochnell created some excellent moments in front of goal, with Dylan, Alfie and Cody all finding the net with superb finishes to secure the three points.

Every player put in a tremendous shift and the team performance was outstanding from start to finish.

Player of the Match: Aidan Steeman – a brilliant all-round display.

Well done to the whole squad for another great result. ⚽👏

Our A.hcontractors sponsored 2014/15/16s played their opening game of 2026 yesterday in the Argyll & the Islands Youth Football Association - AIYFA under 12 league. Welcoming Oban Saints 2015s to Lora View, our guys played out an entertaining draw and coaches were delighted with the effort. Many thanks to Saints for providing such sporting opposition.😊
