Hi, apologies for the lack of updates or responses on our page, it isn't monitored as often as we'd like due to the club being run by volunteers.
Yes the club is still running, unless you see any different on here, please just assume that it is.
We've had a recent high intake of new visitors and members and club nights are now reaching capacity, we simply don't have enough courts and if too many people arrive there is too much time with others sat out waiting to play which isn't fair on anyone.
It's a difficult situation if visitors come along that either haven't played before or don't play to a reasonable standard as no one wants to be told this, so please ensure you can play to a decent standard so that we can all enjoy a reasonable level of competive but fun games.
You will need to have previous experience of playing badminton. If you've never played before we have no coaching facilities and you'll need to get some practice or coaching before visiting us.
We play at Coombesheads sports hall In Newton Abbot on Mondays 19:45-21:45 and Fridays 19:00-21:00.
It's £5 a session but there are discount memberships available. If you play to an acceptable level you'll be invited to join as a member and you can choose to play on a Monday or Friday only or you can join for both nights.
Memberships can be paid by bank transfer, details on request.
Please note : You will need to bring your own racket. Indoor court shoes (non marking) are required and a drink would also be a good idea. We don't have any loan rackets or any other kit that we can lend out.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR £5 WITH YOU ON THE NIGHT. IF YOU KNOW YOU'RE GOING TO PLAY, THERE'S NO EXCUSE NOT TO BRING YOUR CLUB FEE.
IF YOU HAVE JOINED YOU MAY BE ASKED TO SHOW PAYMENT CONFIRMATION OF YOUR MEMBERSHIP FEE. THANK YOU.
