At Purple Gecko Events, we pride ourselves on being welcoming, supportive & inclusive (Whilst also having epic medals!)

We are a small Cornwall based events company, specialising in trail runs, the majority of which have no cut off times allowing runners of all levels, ages & abilities to participate at their own pace. Whether it be a 2.5K fun run around a beautiful Cornish lake or a 20K trek ove

r some of the most scenic coast path the South West has to offer, we have something for everyone. For those more experienced & adventurous, we have longer distance events including 3 ultramarathons on our race calendar, showcasing the most stunning coast line, moorland & countryside. Morning, for those of you joining us on the Coast to Coast Half Marathon tomorrow, here is a reminder of your timings and key points!

Race registration is Portreath Surf Life Saving Club and opens at 7.30am.
You are expected to carry a fully charged mobile phone & fluid, with a collapsible cup to use at the water points ( This is a cupless event).
Bag Drop will be in the minibus parked outside registration.

We request that you DO NOT wear headphones due to the few sections of the route along country lanes.

Current weather forecast is 18-19 degrees, high humidity, high UV, no cloud cover through the morning and into the afternoon. Thinking sun sun protection & hydration.
The Canicross category has been postponed due to the forecast. (Canicross participants have been emailed).

Race start on the beach at 9am.
2 Sweepers will be at the rear of the field if you require assistance whilst on the course.

Water stations at the 8.5km, 19km & the finish.

The turnaround mark in Point is marshalled and marked with a flag.
The finish point is on Devoran Quay.
Brew Cornwall will be there with cakes, pastries & cold & hot drinks!
Omega Medical will be there at the finish if you require any attention. ( Call event control or speak to the sweepers if you require assistance on the course).

We have also hired Devoran Village Hall as a sheltered rest area with toilets post finish, bags which were placed in the bag drop can be found here, plus this is the pick up point for those who have booked a minibus return.
Zenara Therapeutics will also be here for those of you that have booked treatments:)

The amazing Brew Cornwall will be there at race registration and the finish point on Saturday to help make sure you are more than adequately nourished for our Coast 2 Coast Copper Trail Half Marathon!

They will come equipped with Cinnamon Buns, Pastries, Brownies, Victoria Sponge, Barista Coffee, Matcha, Iced Coffee, Hot Choc, Tea plus Pink Lemonade, Cola, Sparkling Apple & Elderflower soft drinks!

Just a quick Tuesday morning shout out to the sponsors and partners for this weekends Coast To Coast Copper Trail Half Marathon!

We soon will be returning to South West Lakes Trust Siblyback Lake for our Siblyback Lake Gecko Gathering 2026 summer outing on Sat 20th June!

4 distances to choose from: Fun Run, 4.8k. 9.6k and the 8 Hour endurance challenge The Siblython 2026 !

Olive & Co. will be there to keep you fed & watered with camping and facilities available on site!

Race day timings:
8am - 4.8k & 9.6k ( One or 2 laps around the lake.)
9.15am - 2.5k Fun Run.
No cut off time on either of these two distances and medals for all!

10am - The Siblython.
Complete as many 4.8k laps around the lap within 8 hours (4.4 laps for a Half Marathon / 9 laps for a marathon).

Rest between laps for as long as you like in our outdoor or indoor designated rest area. ( You may store store your own equipment / supplies here).
We will have a feed station with fluids, salt & sugar snacks plus carb for you in the rest area.
You must of started your final lap by 6.30pm ( That final lap will still count)
You may retire at any time but you need to complete a minimum of 3 laps to earn your Siblython medal!

Medals for all and awards for the top finishers! The event is now 75% full!
