Once you’ve submitted your application, our judges will review it alongside every other entry in your category, and finalists will be notified on October 1st.

If you’re named a finalist, that’s when the real benefit kicks in.

From October 2nd until the awards ceremony in November, finalists are promoted across our social media and website, putting your name in front of businesses and customers across North Tyneside who might never have come across you otherwise.

For many finalists, this exposure alone is worth the application.

The awards ceremony takes place on Thursday, November 18th, when we’ll find out who’s taken home this year’s titles.

The Digital Award celebrates North Tyneside businesses using digital tools and new ways of working to grow.

We keep getting asked, “Do I need to be a big business to enter?” and the answer is NO.

Businesses of all sizes can enter, including microbusinesses.

The awards are open to all private sector businesses across all sectors and every size.

The only stipulation is that all applicants must have been trading for a minimum of six months on Monday, September 14th, 2026.

Submitting your application is completely free, and there are five fantastic categories to choose from - The Green Award, Digital Award, Heart of the Business Award, Retail & Service Provider, and New Business Award.

All finalists will get their business promoted on our website, across social media and through wider campaign activity, giving your business a chance to reach more potential customers than ever before.

Category winners will each receive a trophy, certificate and prize, before automatically being considered for the overall North Tyneside Business of the Year Award.

Newcastle Fighters, Bear & Co Consultancy and Jasmine Yoga have been chosen for their outstanding contribution to local people and communities through positive change, collaboration and wellbeing.

The Community Impact Award recognises organisations that go above and beyond in supporting the borough and its residents, and all businesses were nominated by the public.

Newcastle Fighters Academy CIC has won the Positive Change Award, Bear & Co Consultancy has been recognised for Collaboration and Jasmine Yoga and Wellbeing has won the wellbeing award.

Entries are open for the 2026 North Tyneside Business Awards, with the New Business Award, The Green Award, Digital Award, Heart of the Business Award and Retail & Service Provider Award up for grabs at the ceremony on November 19th.
