Mad Science Our mission is to spark the imagination and curiosity of children providing them with fun, interactive and educational science programs.

Babies are born with about 300 separate bones, but as they grow older, many of the bones fuse, leaving just 206 bones to make an average adult skeleton!

You will be running fun hands-on, after-school clubs in local primary schools.

Essential requirements

18+ years of age
Driver with car
Some experience managing/working with groups of children
Available at least 3 afternoons per week from about 3pm

We are currently recruiting in the Reading area for a Children's Presenter & kit coordinator.
We require a reliable individual with a fantastic personality to deliver assemblies, clubs, workshops, holiday camps and parties to primary school aged children. Alongside the presenting you will also look after all the equipment needed to deliver our programmes and coordinate kit swaps with other instructors. You need a great eye for detail and organisational skills to carry out this part of the role.

Working for us is a unique job which you will never forget - you get paid to have fun whilst building and flying rockets, making slime, exploring the states of matter and creating dry ice bubbles, plus much more!

This is a great job for anyone with an acting, drama, performing background or anyone who enjoys inspiring and working with children! A science background is a plus but not essential as full training is given.

Job Role:

•Running after-school clubs during term time in the afternoons
•Delivering assemblies and in-school workshops
•Running holiday camps
•Delivering parties and events (additional weekend and evening work starting at £40 per session)
•Responsible for maintaining clean and tidy kit equipment
•Responsible for preparing kits, inventory and re-stocking
•Coordinating kit swaps with instructors on a weekly basis

Job Requirements:

•Be over 18 years of age
•Have a true passion for teaching and inspiring children
•Have experience of working with groups of children
•Have experience in presenting to large audiences
•Have great organisational and multi-tasking skills
•Have a full driving licence and access to a reliable car
•Happy driving to different schools in Reading and the surrounding areas to deliver our programmes
