Sugarwanders will soon be wandering into The Sugartown, with MEGAWORLD Corporation set to develop its 37th township and its third landmark development on the Sugar Island of Negros.
Property giant Megaworld is adding a new dash of delight to the Bacolod–Silay Airport Road with the development of the 97-hectare The Sugartown in Talisay City. This charming new community will be Megaworld’s 37th township development and its third in Negros Occidental, following the launches of the 53-hectare Northill Gateway at the boundary of Bacolod City and Talisay City, and the 34-hectare The Upper East in eastern Bacolod City.
Envisioned as a place where life feels a little sweeter, The Sugartown will feature premium residential developments by Megaworld and its wholly owned subsidiary, Suntrust Properties, Inc., alongside vibrant commercial and retail spaces. The township will also be highlighted by its very own town center, a dynamic commercial district, and unique tourism facilities—inviting residents and visitors alike to live, explore, and indulge.
As the first township of its kind in Talisay City, The Sugartown is designed as a comprehensive mixed-use development, inspired by Megaworld’s long track record of successful integrated estates and communities developed through the decades.
Megaworld is investing P8-billion in the development of the township over the next 7 to 10 years.
“Our vision for this new township in Negros Occidental is to provide new opportunities to help boost tourism in the province. With its close proximity to the Bacolod-Silay Airport, this will be an exciting destination for visitors and tourists, and a vibrant enclave for residential living,” says Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso, president and CEO, Megaworld.
“With the Negros Island Region already in place, the future of this province is bright and we have seen the rise of mixed-use developments not just in the capital but also in other towns and cities. Through this new township, our seventh in the Visayas, we are excited how we can further contribute to regional progress especially in tourism,” says Kevin Tan, president and CEO, Alliance Global Group, Inc., the parent company of Megaworld.
Perfectly positioned for ease and accessibility, The Sugartown is located less than five minutes away from the Bacolod-Silay Airport, also less than five minutes away from the Talisay City Hall, and around 15 minutes away from the Bacolod City Government Center.
Adding to its charm, the township is just a short drive from Megaworld’s other developments, five minutes away from Northill Gateway and 12 minutes away from The Upper East, making The Sugartown a truly sweet spot for growth, connection, and modern urban living.
